About This Listing
The independant guest suite of our family house has a private bedroom with its own bright kitchenette/living room, plus bathroom.
We're just 5 minutes walk from both the station and the centre of town with its historic Roman buildings, indoor market, cafes and restaurants. Nîmes is also ideally situated as a base for exploring neighbouring towns and sights such as Avignon, Arles, Montpellier, the Camargue, Uzès, Pont du Gard, … and all under an hour's drive or train ride away.
The suite, is a separate independant studio, off our main ground floor living room and takes up the corner of the house. During the day there is the usual town traffic along the small streets, but at night the neighbourhood is suitably quiet.
I'm English with a French husband, so can happily communicate in both English or French as needed. We have children but their stomping ground is the rest of the house so you may well not notice them at all!
Wether you're staying in the region for longer, or just on your way through, I look forward to welcoming to our house, and guiding you in making the most of Nimes and our surrounding area!
The kitchen has a small fridge/freezer, hob, sink, tea kettle, moka pot, and utensils— Tea, coffee & milk, for a good start in the morning are provided. WiFi is available, and you're also welcome to give me any washing if necessary, and I will put it in my machine. Cleaning is included after your stay.
We can provide a cot for a baby, or futon-mattress for a younger child if required, but cannot accommodate more than two adults. The bed is a standard double, provided with sheets, a duvet if needed, and towels for the bathroom.
Parking is free and unallocated on neighbouring streets. Should you be cycling we can keep your bikes in our private yard.

Bref ! A ne pas manquer :o)
The apartment was clean, comfortable and perfectly located for exploring Nimes.
Alice and her family made us feel very welcome in their house. Studio was accurately described and a lot bigger than we expected. Very central but quiet location is a great advantage. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. Alice provided a cot, a highchair and even a box of toys for our baby free of charge. It was our first airbnb experience and it certainly was a great one. Hope to be back one day!
About the Host, Alice
I am a dynamic young woman who has done a lot of travelling around Europe before putting roots down in Nimes. We have a very friendly family & love meeting new people. I love good food & wine, reading & travelling.
The station is just down the street, with regular frequent trains to Montpellier (25 minutes), Avignon (30mins), and by high-speed TGV Paris is only 3h direct.
A good modern Italian restaurant in a lovely quiet square just off the centre of town.
Mostly still intact, and a favourite venue for music concerts, and of course bull-fighting—if no longer gladiators.
A fabulous indoor market, best to get there early in the morning !
The local airport is a short bus ride away and offers low-cost flights to Brussels and London on Ryanair. The next nearest major airports are Montpellier and Marseille.
One of the starting points for canoeing—if there's water in the river as it can disappear during summer! Further along the road towards Nimes scramble down to some nice sun-bathing and swimming spots!
A spectacular ruin, especially if you reach it by walking along the river from Collias. During the summer there are fireworks, concerts and 'spectaculars' held here.
Not to be missed on saturday mornings, a typical french market set around the delightful square at the heart of this historic town and the source of the water that supplied Nîmes via the Pont du Gard.
