José and Brian's studio was exactly what I wanted, and a really wonderful alternative to staying in downtown hotels. All the little extras made it even better! It's very bright, quiet, and couldn't be more well located for doing anything in the Castro or Mission; also, it's a really short walk to the subway and surface public transit. Although we were out and busy most of the time, the guys were very welcoming; José came down on the first evening to make sure we had everything we needed. If, unlike me, you are new to San Francisco, they have in the apartment all kinds of maps, guides, and suggestions for your stay. I will definitely be looking to stay here again on my next trip down.
We loved our stay! The place was comfy, cute and convenient and the hosts made an effort to provide extra welcoming extras like snacks, good coffee and wine! All the appointments were first class. We will be back!!
Jose and Brian were fantastic hosts, no hassle getting the key and their place is well set up for anyone wanting to stay in the heart of SF. Close to everything we wanted and a beautiful quiet neighbourhood.
I had a great stay in the apartment – José and Brian are thoughtful hosts providing a range of extras that make for an enjoyable stay. The apartment is well located in a quiet street with good access to public transport.
Spacious basement apartment stocked with everything you need. Amazing location near the heart of the Castro with convenient access to everything. Private entrance with keypad, so no keys to lose! José and Brian were great hosts.
José's place is a great hideaway on a quiet street in the Castro area of San Fran. Having its own private entrance is a bonus so you don't have to disturb anyone when coming home after dark. I'm usually someone who doesn't prefer lower-level units because I love daylight, but his place still received ample amounts of sunshine in the daytime. The full kitchen would be great for anyone, especially if you're on a longer trip and don't want to eat out for every meal. I'm not sure if this is the norm, but there were a few goodies already stocked in there (thanks!) along with dishes and anything else you could possibly need.
On top of really enjoying his place and the location, José and Brian are both really sweet, welcome guys. We arrived to find a welcome letter with some key points of the city and any information we might possibly need.
Great place - I'd highly recommend it to anyone :-)
Warm welcome began even before we arrived and continued all the way through. Our hosts were very accommodating and friendly. The apartment was exactly as advertised: comfortable, quiet, attractive, plenty of space, nice bathroom, lots of light even though it is right at ground level. All kinds of little extra touches provided, including complimentary bottle of wine, snacks, and all kinds of personal care items in the bathroom. Being in the Castro was wonderful: so lively, full of great restaurants and stores, easy access to public transit, beautiful neighbourhoods to walk in (if you're up for hill-climbing, lots of exercise too!). A great way to be introduced to San Francisco.
I'm originally from Puerto Rico, attended college in Boston and moved to San Francisco 4 years ago. I'm a web developer and enjoy traveling to new places.
