We loved our time at the Hideaway. Each morning we awoke to the peaceful sounds of nature. We enjoyed the deck for watching the sunrise and the tides. Elaine is such a gracious host. She gave us great tips about the area. This location is perfect. We were a short drive to the beach or to Charleston. There is no better way to experience Charleston! We are so glad we found the Hideaway. I highly recommend a visit.
Elaine was a great hostess! She greeted me with Southern Sweet Tea and checked in throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable. I highly recommend!
From the moment we arrived at the house, we knew this was the perfect space for our girls getaway. My 11 year old daughter said that she never wanted to leave. Every detail was taken care of and we LOVED sitting in the apartment. We didn't get as much outside dock time as we had hoped because of the cooler weather but still had a wonderful trip! We will definitely be back to stay again!
Thank you Elaine for sharing your beautiful slice of heaven with us!
Marsh Place Hideaway is truly a gem. You must check it out. It's located just 10-15 min from Charleston depending on traffic and the views are incredible. We woke up to the sound of birds every morning. The cottage is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and has absolutely everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. We loved the views of the marsh, hanging out on the dock, and the roomy screened in porch that boasts tons of seating and protection from the bugs. Elaine is most definitely the kindest of property managers we have ever come across! She left us fresh fruit, made us sweat tea, and even had cookie dough waiting in the fridge for us upon our arrival. Thank you so much, Elaine! We would give this place 5 stars. Don't miss out.
Our host, Elaine, is so kind and made sure we had everything we needed for the perfect week at this beautiful apartment. The marsh is literally in the backyard and we greatly enjoyed watching the tide each day. We felt like we were in our own oasis, even though Downtown Charleston and Folly Beach are not far away. If we have the chance in the future, we would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at the Marsh Place Hideaway for 6 nights on a recent first trip to Charleston, SC.
Charleston, SC is spectacular and should you be lucky enough to stay at the Marsh Place Hideaway, your visit will only gain more charm! Firstly, Elaine is one of the sweetest hostesses that you will meet, she ensures your comfort and answers all of your questions. She has a number of special recommendations worth trying! She is not only professional but truly enjoys being a part of this resource and welcoming you to beautiful Charleston.
March Place Hideaway is accurately photographed and described but even more special in person when you stand on the dock/porch and actually take it all in. This bright apartment can sleep 3, and offers a full kitchen and bathroom. For us, two active adults, the apartment was suitable with enough space for our needs and well situated to the city. You will require a car to get around, it is less than 15 minutes drive to downtown in one direction and to Folly Beach in the other direction. From either point, you can easily continue driving to other areas of interest. There are plenty of parking options available in downtown Charleston (ranging from $8-20 USD per day). It is an easy drive from CHS to Marsh Place Hideaway and to/from downtown Charleston. The location allows you to explore!
With its beachy-cottage charm and stunning views, I highly recommend staying in this special place and look forward to returning! Thank you so much Elaine, we look forward to seeing you again!
The visit (much to brief) was wonderful. Elaine met us and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The studio apartment was lovely with everything you could need. The dock and view magnificent. Hope we make it down again!

I used to live here when I was a student at College of Charleston. I chose it because it was on the water, and it took me just 13 minutes to be in class.
I loved to watch the sunrise from the dock and the moon melt into the water. I had a thriving summer garden and loved to gather figs. With Autumn, came endless pecans!
Since then, things have changed. Same trees and same scene with a breezy new porch and a fresh look for the loft!
But what brings me back is what brought me here from the start - the living, breathing marsh and the wealth of beauty that abounds - the pace of the tides, the watercolor sunsets, racing fish, and dolphins at play. Endless hours of sunshine on the dock and gatherings with family and friends.
Now, I offer this space to you, to share it as I've loved it, with all its natural glory. Come make your own memories! You may never want to leave.
