The Space

The finished basement in my New Britain home is available for short to mid-term stays. The living space is large, tastefully decorated, and has three sizable windows... you will not feel like you're in a dank cellar!

You'll have fresh sheets, towels and your own private bathroom with shower stall. The space is approximately 600 sqft. There is no kitchen but there is a sink and an area where you can keep dry food. The place feels like a large studio apartment... plenty of privacy!

You'll receive a key and you can come and go as you please. I listed this as a private room but it will feel like you have an entire apartment to yourself. You may see my parents (very pleasant folks) on the first floor on your way in or out.

This house is close to everything! A comfortable, private, affordable option for visiting any of the below destinations or plenty of others.

  • Basement room with a bed, space to work, and a private restroom. Syed's father and mother gave me a quick intro, turned a world cup game on the tv, and then went upstairs. Our interactions were pleasant and I would recommend staying there for anyone looking for a few nights in New Britain. Cheers!

  • My husband and I stayed in this location for one night as we had a wedding to attend to in the morning and didn't want to make the 2.5 hour drive the next day. Syed's parents were hospitable and very accommodating. The room is in the basement of their lovely home. It is a large room with a Full size bed, a television and two couches to lounge on. There is also an area with a desk for you to use your computer on, if you bring it along. The space is outfitted (email hidden)/ kitchenette area that has a sink, a little fridge, a coffee pot and a toaster. We only stayed for a night so we didn't use the appliances but I can see it being very handy for those staying longer. The room also has a bookcase with quite a good selection of reads. The only minor drawback is the small bathroom. It has the essentials: it has a sink, toilet and shower stall, but the shower stall is a bit small; if it had maybe half a foot more of width it would be easier to move around in without touching the walls. The water pressure and temperature, however, worked very well. Syed's parents also provide towels and washcloths and even a travel tooth paste and soap for those that don't bring their own. The place was very clean and you can tell that they try to make it a comfortable environment to stay in. We would definitely stay here again if we were back in this area.

  • We stayed for one night with Syed's parents at the Central Connecticut home. Our stay was great and very much what we expected--no surprises: the pictures and description of the basement are quite accurate. We were mostly left to ourselves, free to come and go as we pleased. The shower was excellent--great water pressure! If we were to swing back through New Britain, we would definitely consider this location again. Thanks!

  • My first experience with this sure was not very pleasant, but after staying with Mr. Hyatt I have regained full confidence in this site again. The family was more than accommodating and he was extremely friendly and nice. My only negative remark was the password for the internet was not correct and was not able to resolve the issue. Besides that, my stay was outstanding. This is definitely a location I would recommend.

  • Great people, the room was fine for what we needed. Bathroom is a bit small, but the main room is quite large with all the amenities you need!

  • The room was spacious with two couches, a full bed, and a private bath. The hosts put a small refrigerator, coffeemaker, and microwave in the room. I travel to CT often and will definitely stay here again.

  • Syed's dad was our host and he was very gracious. Everything was clean and cozy -- and the price was right. Our room was large and spacious. While the bathroom was small, the water pressure was very good. Plus, the main room had an extra sink with a big mirror. There was also a small fridge and microwave.

  • Syed's dad was very kind and welcoming. The room itself was comfortable with lots of room, a desk, couches, space heater (did not use it), small fridge, etc.--all the things I needed for a nice 4 night stay here. There's good highway access. It was a convenient, laid-back stay even spending the day in New Haven.

  • Syed's place was great. It is located in a quiet neighborhood of New Britain. The studio was spacious with sofas and a comfortable bed. There was also a small refrigerator and facilities to make coffee. I would strongly recommend Syed's place to future AirBnB guests.

  • It was a good place to stay. The family was very kind and friendly. Just know it is a cozy full size bed. But all was good.
