Want something different & original that boasts a new hot and only 15 mins to RRG?! My circa 1890 farmhouse has unique charm and peace that I cannot describe. The cozy front porch sitting is the ultimate pastime. Located in a rural neighborhood with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, awesome kitchen and comfy new beds! Rustic-chic vibe with some original barn-wood walls & vintage hardwood floors. Wi-Fi is good but better yet we have 50 acres w creek & mountain to explore or firepit to solve world problems!

The space
This was my grandparent's farmhouse and I've been in the process of remodeling. It's rustic and still needs some finishing touches but its clean and very homey. The upstairs portion of the home is blocked off for storage but all downstairs rooms are all available. I provide quality sheets, towels, bedding, pillows and all supplies. Just bring your clothes and food! There is a firepit in back and I have free firewood. Home has new refrigerator, new stove/oven, clean bathroom, a microwave, Keurig coffee pot, tea pot, dishes and cookware. It's a very unique home on a really cool property only 15 minutes to Red River Gorge and only 7 minutes to Kroger grocery store. Your well-behaved dog is welcome too for a small fee.

If you have a larger group, rent my Forest Edge Retreat right next door. It's a two bedroom 1 bath as well and sleeps 4.

If you have a super large group, I also have two separate modern retreats across the road that each have 3 bedrooms/2 baths and sleep 6 each.

Guest access
Completely private house, use backdoor entrance keycode, you will have the place to yourself but will only be able to access lower level of home. Upper level is for storage only.

Other things to note
I rent the retreat next door to farmhouse. It has a privacy fence and separate driveway but on same property. If you have a large group or two couples, considering renting both.

My husband Jim and I have a blended family of 6 adult children, 6 grandchildren, 2 rescue cats, 1 recue dog, and 5 chickens. God has blessed us to find each other later in life than most but we've got our groove on now and living life to the fullest! We value our family time and have gatherings every chance we get. We are also very entertained and amused by our animals and hope to continue rescuing more as time goes on. As for me, I am a local and my family hails from this area dating back to 1816. Jim is originally from the amazing Chicago area but lived in Lexington, KY the past 22 years and has now found a love and appreciation for my small hometown. He's a cyclist and enjoys routinely riding all the backroads of our rural community. Because of this, he now knows all the backroads even better than I! A couple of things we have in common is our thirst to continually grow our relationship with God and try to keep Him in the center of our life. We know we don't want to do this life without Him and are so thankful for His mercy and grace and blessings. We certainly count our guests among those blessings! Another thing we both enjoy is world travel. We venture every chance we get. In the past few years we've been to New Zealand, Australia, Patagonia, Brazil, St. Croix , Chile, and Mexico to name a few. So we love to travel as much as possible but have recently discovered our LOVE for hosting as well. Hosting gives us a chance to learn about your travels, adventures, and journeys and your stories of travel often intrigue and inspire us. Or, even if just a self check in, we can hopefully leave you with a lasting impression of our super clean spaces and thoughtful touches. We would genuinely love a chance to host you and your guest and would promise to apply all the tips we've learned from our travel to make your experience the best it can be. We live locally and can assist when needed or we can give you complete privacy with no contact and self check in. We will follow your lead! Come stay with us!
