Are you truly looking to get away from it all, but still enjoy all the modern comforts of home? Look no further than Superior Shores, an updated modern home that offers the best the South Shore has to offer. All this and a sauna to boot!

The property features stunning lake views, acres of woods (and privacy!), and 500 feet of sandy Lake Superior Shore (across the road). A class 1 trout stream also runs through the property, and in the winter you can even ski right out the back door!

The space
Superior Shores is your personal retreat on the South Shore! The cabin is all on one level, with an open kitchen/dining/living area that welcomes you when you first walk in the front door. The kitchen is fully outfitted with all the appliances and utensils you'll need to enjoy meals "at home," with a dining table that comfortably seats six. The living room has an oh-so-comfy sectional sofa, flat-screen tv, and a gas fireplace to make those winter nights oh-so-cozy.

Directly off the main living area is a bedroom with queen and twin beds. There is also a half bath located adjacent to the kitchen.

The east side of the home has another lovely living area as well as a desk/working space. Just off this second sitting area is the main bedroom, which has a queen bed and a beautiful en suite bathroom with a wonderful large shower.

As lovely as the indoor amenities are, the true scene-stealer of this property is all that you'll find (and enjoy) outdoors. The home is nestle on 8 private acres. Out back you'll be able to enjoy hiking, cross-country skiing (yep, right out the back door!), and the sauna.

Out front is a fire pit and across the highway (this may sound daunting but traffic is never heavy) lies 500 feet of stunning lakefront property that allows you to literally just stroll to the beach! Another unique feature of this property is the class one trout stream that runs along the eastern edge of the property. This is great for fishing (of course) and just wading or enjoying the sound of the water as it flows into the big lake.

The south shore is truly a place to get away from it all, but not so far from modern conveniences that getting food and gas feel like a chore. The guest book contains tips on all the incredible outdoor activities, local arts, and places to get groceries, dine out, grab a drink, etc. This is truly a year-round destination, whether you enjoy outdoor activities, local cuisine, art, or simply the company of friends & family in one of the most beautiful locations in the northern U.S.

The home is just a few minutes from the center of Port Wing, which has a gas station, coffee shop, general store, two bar/restaurants, and marina (not to mention our two favorite beaches!). Bayfield is about 35 minutes away, as is Washburn (where the largest grocery store is in the area). Ashland is about 45 minutes away (which has a natural foods co-op, Wal-Mart, and wider range of shops). Superior & Duluth are an hour and a bit away.
