About This Listing
Experiement a true home in Venise.
This is not a hotel, nor a bed&breakfast. It is just a normal home that is often left over unoccupied , as I'm working in Paris.
Ideal for large groups of up to 9 people.
The apartment is ideally located close the the Rialto bridge. This very central location is close to many vaporretto (water bus) stops and you can walk almost to anywhere.
The surface is quite big (3200 ft² / 300m²) all on the same floor.
The apartment is composed of :
- A hall
- A living room
- A dinning room
- For bathrooms
- Five bedrooms
- The XVIII century room, double bed, view over the canal, private bathroom
- The Empire room, double bed, view over the canal, private bathroom
- The Chinese room, double bed, view over the court, very calm, private bathroom
- The blue room (much smaller room), two single bed, shared bathroom with the Turkish room
- The Turkish room (tiny room), one single bed, shared bathroom with the Blue room
- A fully equipped kitchen
- A laundry
The XVIIIème and Empire bathroom are brand new (Feb. 2014). I need to upload some pics (I know,....I'm late)
By the way, do not search for a TV, we don't have one, and we don't want to ! But I have put in place a wireless network for myself, and you can use it as much as you want.
Important to know, our upper neighbors do not like the noise. In particular at evening time. I rely on you to remain quiet and conscious of our upper neighbors.
Please be aware that the rooms are usually ready by 5PM (we need time to clean), but you can arrive earlier, rest in the living room, and leave your luggage home.
If you have more questions, the best way is to get in touch.
Once again, this isn't a hotel or a professional bed & breakfast. You're about to share the true Venetian life !
Once booking is done, we'll give you all the details about access
Interaction with Guests
Most of the time, I will not be home when you come.
If we're not in Venice at the time of your stay, a friend will welcome you, deliver the keys and answer any of your question. We'll give you all the details after the booking.
Our home is right in the center. So one's can walk form there almost to anywhere else in Venise.
Rialto bridge is a key point in Venise, as it is the mandatory way to go from one bank to the other.
Rialto is one of the main "station" for water buses. From this station, you can go in many directions.
Of course, there is no parking for cars in venise.
You can benefit from all the common areas such as the living room or the kitchen. What a nice time to lay in the living room, drinking a glass of prosecco !
As it is a private apartment, everything is furnished as home. Food, drinks, coffee...are available, and we rely on host to replace whatever you may have used.
Edouard had arranged for Antonio to meet us at the train station in Venice and guide us to the apartment. Antionio showed us the whole apartment, how things worked and provided his cell phone number to contact if needed. A very warm welcome experience.
The apartment is as described. The pictures are very representative. Lots of old world charm including sagging floors. Three big double bedrooms and a couple of smaller bedrooms. Perfect for our group of 4 adults and 5 children.
Location is very good. Close to Rialto bridge and St Marco square, yet tugged away in a quiet court yard that allows you to get good nights sleep. View of the canals from three bedrooms is a plus.
We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Edouard's place to others.
Wow! It couldn't have been nicer. It was even better than the pictures. Antonio met us and escorted us to this amazing, incredibly spacious apartment that was so beautifully decorated and so central to everything we wanted to do. We had easy access to markets, transportation, attractions, restaurants and shopping. Antonio even helped us with private water taxi arrangements. It was like staying in a friends home. We'd love to stay there again.
Unfortunately, we never met our host, Edouard, or his friend, Antonio, who was scheduled to let us into the apartment. That said, the young lady who met us at the airport was efficient in arranging to have our large group (8 plus 8 suitcases) transported to the dock where we met a private water taxi that dropped us near the apartment. Antonio checked in with us a few times via text to make sure we were okay. The home is every bit as lovely as represented in the listing! It is very difficult to capture the feel of the place in the photos. The apartment and the furnishings led us to imagine that we were a noble family of the Renaissance! (Don't expect luxury bath situations and you won't be disappointed. This is not a new, modern accommodation. No air conditioning, but several standing fans.) Each night, we opened all of the doors & windows so we could soak in the sounds of the city and enjoy the breeze. The building is located at the corner of two waterways and from the main balcony, you can see the Grand Canal. It is very close to excellent restaurants, shopping and sights, but is wrapped in a quiet neighborhood. The apartment itself is on the 3rd floor with access only by a steep staircase, so beware if anyone in your party has limited mobility. Our family group ranged from 18 year olds to 60 and we all loved the home. Definitely consider booking this beautiful place!
A lovely place to stay, huge and spacious, a great location and stunning views of the canals from the windows. We were met at the train station and shown to the apartment which was wonderful as it would have been somewhat difficult to find on our own. Would definitely recommend.

About the Host, Edouard
