About This Listing
Artist loft is located just off trendy Abbot Kinney, 2 block from Venice Beach, and 3 blocks from Main Street. This is the heart of Venice Living. World class restaurants, Jo’s and Gelina, a stone's throw-away. Galleries and the beach right in your backyard.
The loft has a comfy bed for 2 and soft sheets. If you don't want to go to the awesome breakfast places in the hood, there is a small kitchen that is well-equipped. The modern vintage décor includes painted hardwood floors, tin ceilings and clean simple styling. The loft has a bedroom, dining area, sitting area and a work desk.
This loft is located above and looks down onto my architecture office/gallery so all your questions and concerns can be answered by a real person. It has a separate entrance with a steep staircase to the private loft. I have an amazing library of local architecture for touring around. Bikes, skateboard and surfboards available for a small fee.
The kitchen and bath are shared with me during business hours, Tuesday -Thursday. (I am rarely in the office.) The shower is in a separate area. (see pictures) The shower and toilet rooms are small, circa vintage bathrooms.
Parking isn't too bad in this area but plan on parking once and just staying in the hood. This loft is in an urban neighborhood, expect to see lots of people walking around and hear street noises. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is not the place for you. Everything is within walking/biking distance. There is a bus stop across the street for easy access to Santa Monica Pier and Promenade.
Wi-Fi provided. Free bikes and boogie boards provided. No laundry on site but it can be provided for a small fee.
-No shoes in the loft
-No smoking inside the building.
-Please separate trash in the provided trash cans. There are both recycling and landfill waste cans. Please put waste in the appropriate can.
-Please do not put anything in the toilet other than toilet paper.
-No partying please... This loft is not meant for drinking parties...thus: ABSOLUTELY NO PARTYING! Having a friend or two over for wine / dinner is totally fine, but no obnoxiously loud drinking sessions.
-Please be respectful to neighbors.
-Lock bikes at all times.
Isabelle was a wonderful host, and her loft was truly amazing - just like the pictures. The location is just perfect - on the corner of the vibrant Abbot Kinney and just a short walk to the beach. Highly recommended!
Isabelle is a nice host, and the location is great. I used the bike to go to everywhere.
Isabelles loft was simply wonderful! I felt home instantly and all that architecture stuff around the place made my heart jump as I'm totally into that stuff. Everything you need is there, even bikes to cruise around and its perfectly located at a corner of Abbot Kinney and just a short walk to the beach. The loft was clean and there's enough space for clothes and even a flat iron and and ironing board! I was lucky to be there when the Venice Art Crawl took place and so I got to spend a little time with Isabelle and the people of the neighbourhood, all very kind and wonderful people. If you're looking for a place in Venice, this is yours to book!
Isabelle is a wonderful host! The loft was clean, complete with everything you need, and had special touches like fresh flowers and bikes to use. The location couldn't be better, virtually on Abbot Kinney, which means walking to all the great food and shops. You are also only a couple of blocks from the beach. It's a little noisy at night being in the heart of the action, but that's a small price to pay for such a good location. I'd recommend this spot and hope to return myself.
While I didn't get to meet Isabelle in person she was welcoming and extremely helpful. The loft was as described and suited my needs perfectly. Other reviewers have commented on the size of the shower, which if there was any issue with this listing that would be it but it is very minor and nothing that would prevent me from staying here again. The location was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend this property -- particularly for an individual traveler wanting to experience the best of Abbott Kinney.
Isabelle was so wonderful and her loft was incredibly cozy and welcoming. The location is great, literally around the corner from Abbot Kinney and only a few blocks walk to the Venice Boardwalk! We enjoyed coffee at Stumptown every morning and spent a nice afternoon relaxing on the patio at Venice Ale House, their Tangerine beer is a must have and the entertainment from the Boardwalk is very enjoyable. There are several great restaurants just around the corner from the loft and great trendy shops! We would definitely stay at Isabelle's again!
About the Host, Isabelle
I am an architect and an environmentalist. I have a cool Airedale dog named Captain Cookie.
While I have lived in Venice for a long time, I have traveled a lot. Since I am originally from Belgian and I have family in France as well, I go to Europe regularly. I lived in Hungary for 1 year. My husband’s dad lives in India.
I gotta say. Venice is really a wonderful place to live. I feel blessed and can't wait to share my City with you. By the way, architecture here is really interesting.
