The Space

Artist loft is located just off trendy Abbot Kinney, 2 block from Venice Beach, and 3 blocks from Main Street. This is the heart of Venice Living. World class restaurants, Jo’s and Gelina, a stone's throw-away. Galleries and the beach right in your backyard.

The loft has a comfy bed for 2 and soft sheets. If you don't want to go to the awesome breakfast places in the hood, there is a small kitchen that is well-equipped. The modern vintage décor includes painted hardwood floors, tin ceilings and clean simple styling. The loft has a bedroom, dining area, sitting area and a work desk.

This loft is located above my architecture office/gallery so all your questions and concerns can be answered by a real person. It has a separate entrance with a steep staircase to the private loft. I have an amazing library of local architecture for touring around. Bikes, skateboard and surfboards available for a small fee.

The kitchen and bath are shared with me during business hours, Tuesday -Thursday. (I am rarely in the office.) The shower is in a separate area. (see pictures) The shower and toilet rooms are small, circa vintage bathrooms.

Parking is fierce in this area so plan on parking once and just staying in the hood. This loft is in an urban neighborhood, expect to see lots of people walking around and hear street noises. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is not the place for you. Everything is within walking/biking distance. There is a bus stop across the street for easy access to Santa Monica Pier and Promenade.

Wi-Fi provided. Free bikes and boogie boards provided. No laundry on site but it can be provided for a small fee.

  • Isabelle was a pleasure to deal with - both prompt in responding, and patient with me while I sorted some details. Her pad is just perfect. Downstairs is Isabelle's architect's office, kitchen (with some welcome provisions in the refrigerator!), shower and toilet, while upstairs on a mezzanine level is a spacious and private bedroom with its own desk and plenty of cupboard and drawer space. Very easy to feel at home here. The location could not be improved upon. At the quieter end of AK, but within a few mins walk for all the bars restaurants and boutiques you could wish for. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Isabelle in person on this trip, but hopefully next time.

  • Isabelle's place is the perfect location for anyone wanting to enjoy the sites and sounds of Venice. It's 2 seconds (literally!) from the trendiest shopping, cafe and restaurant scene in the area Abbott Kinney. Isabelle was very accommodating and made me feel very welcome. The space is great too with everything you need for a comfortable stay. With good planning I got a park outside everyday too. Local restaurants I walked to and enjoyed. Salt air and Feed. Cafés: Toms and Inteligensia.

  • We never met, but Isabelle was always available and provided all info we asked for. The location was great! The space cools down nicely in the evening. Had a great six night stay!

  • On our road trip through California and after a lot of hotels, we were searching for a nice spot near the beach to come down and (email hidden) we found all we were searching for. A lovely loft style office and apartment only 4 min by foot to the beach.
Even when we were spontaneous everything worked out perfect and we had 5 perfect (email hidden). We would definitely recommend this place to have a good time in Venice!

  • This loft is just at the right location ! Close to beach and the busy abbot Kinney street. We enjoyed the detailed personal welcome note explaining what was going on in the hood ;) we did follow the recommendation with success... Parking was not a big issue really there is some options around.

The bikes was welcome and made it convenient to Cruse the neighborhood. Also there was some beers in the fridge that was available for us.

    In general a nice stay

    Cheers

  • I loved staying at Isabelle's! I am an architecture and design fan so to stay in an architects studio was a treat, and I love her work. The location is great and the upstairs loft area is really comfortable. I will definitely be booking again. Loved being able to bike to the beach....

  • Isabelle was an absolutely perfect hostess and as the other reviews mention, the loacation is the best spot in Venice, right around the corner from all the hotspots on Abbot Kinney.

On our first day, Isabelle left us the keys and we actually had the full place including the downstairs to ourselves the entire week. Such a luxury!

This is the perfect space for creatives to stay. It's charming, convenient and I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

Thanks for making our stay so wonderful, Isabelle!

About
I am an architect and an environmentalist. I have a cool Airedale dog named Captain Cookie. While I have lived in Venice for a long time, I have traveled a lot. Since I am originally from Belgian and I have family in France as well, I go to Europe regularly. I lived in Hungary for 1 year. My husband’s dad lives in India. I gotta say. Venice is (email hidden) to live. I feel blessed and can't wait to share my City with you. By the way, architecture here is really interesting.
