Location doesn't get much better than this. You have a balcony over looking a vibrant street, 2 unusually comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen and minimal but stylish lay out. Probably the best corner in palermo.
This is an antique apartment , in a low rise neighbourhood. Most places you'll find here will be in some kind of tower, and probably lack any soul.
Surrounded by places to eat, cafes and clothes shop, whilst not being on or close to any main roads gives the apartment a distinct , cosy and holiday like feel. This literally is the best corner in the area.
Bedroom 1 has a super expensive, high quality mattress, the type one only finds in the best hotels. It is euro king size. 2 m by 2m.
bedroom 2 has a queen size mattress, a little more firm, but also high quality.
Both bedrooms have a complete black out option.
The kitchen/diner/living room is a great space for socialising, cooking and enjoying your food/drinks, whilst watching the world go by, if you choose. The balcony is a small but cosy space(smoking allowed here only). There are a table and chairs, with some plants on the balcony.
You have cable tv, a high quality oven/hob, professional pans to cook with from abroad, a juicer, a blender, fast wifi internet and all you need to be self sufficient.
Whilst you do get some garbage/supply trucks passing occasionally, the apartment is not noisy. most of the background noise is of people talking whilst walking in the street. i personally find this welcoming.
This is a safe zone, with no hidden nasties, you can walk the streets at 4/5/6/7 am close to here with no problems, which is more than can be said for many of the places you'll find.
We can accommodate parties upto 7, provided some are children.
Filter coffee, iron and board supplied.
shared terrace on top floor.
Interaction with Guests
Between myself and the property manager (for the times im not there), you will have efficient channels of communication. There is a wealth of advice in my info page also. feel free to ask any questions that may assist.
You are surrounded by Cafes , places to eat and cool clothes shops. Its as safe as it gets in Argentina. There is life around you 24/7, without suffering the noise of a main road.
Taxi is the best way for tourists to travel, but the bus stop is 1 block away, and the subway 8.
Please dont use shoes in the house. it brings in dirt from the streets. Be aware that dust will build up if the balcony doors are left open for long periods. its just the way the air is in this city. the floor is a lot nicer to walk around on if these things are kept in mind.
The terrace is upstairs, go anytime you wish. its shared but only our friendly neighbour patricio and his kids use it sometimes, no one else goes there.
if the futon under the front bedroom mattress bothers you, remove it and place it down the side of the bed.
WATER THE PLANTS and dont smoke inside. We are trying to create some privacy and nice smells on the balcony, and for this we need help keeping the plants going. if you can be bothered to do a few, just the large pots with jazmin and flowers. forget the hanging ones and cactus.
DO NOT PUT OLD COFFEE, FOOD, OR SHAVING BITS DOWN ANY SINK. PUT THIS STUFF IN THE BIN PLEASE .THE PLUMBING HERE IS INEFFICIENT. THE SINKS ARE NOT FOR ANY TYPE OF WASTE. THERE ARE WASTE CATCHERS IN PLACE IN THE SINKS FOR A REASON. PLEASE LEAVE THEM THERE.
THE PLACE HAS FLOODED BEFORE FOR THIS VERY REASON. IF THESE RULES ARE NOT FOLLOWED, YOU COULD GET WET! SOME PEOPLE PUT SCRAMBLED EGGS, MEAT FAT AND ALL SORTS DOWN THERE, THIS REALLY IS NOT COOL. PEOPLE HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS DAMAGE, ON TWO OCCASIONS, TO THE WOODEN FLOOR THROUGH NEGLIGENCE OF THESE RULES. THE NEXT PEOPLE WHO DO THIS WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW FLOOR.
We stayed in the apartment for 6 weeks and absolutely loved it. It feels huge, due to the high ceilings and has such charm, far from the dull, impersonal high tower buildings that you can also find in the area.
The apartment is located in the very center of Palermo, in the midst of an abundance of shops, restaurants and people shopping or just strolling around. The downside of this, as in many gentrified areas of cities around the world, is that the area has gone kind of posh/touristy. The pop-up, trendy, boho, and less expensive boutiques seem to have moved further on. And many of the locals have moved out, leaving room for high priced shops. So if you're looking for a more "genuine" (whatever that is) living area, this may not be it. On the other hand, due to all these shops and restaurants, the area feels safer than many other areas. And we loved all the life that the pedestrians and café visitors brought. Since there are no night clubs in the close neighborhood, it's not at all as noisy as many other parts of Palermo. There were som street musicians, but not after 10 pm. And with the main bedroom in the middle of the apartment, with no window overlooking the street, it was in fact very quiet. We were surprised. Also, with such nice huge beds you sleep like a baby anyhow.
The living room is big and bright and the balcony adds so much charm. We sat there all the time, watching people pass by, having breakfast or a glass of wine. It was such a nice way to experience the life of Buenos Aires, even when just resting at home. The balcony totally did it for us.
We also did a lot of cooking and found everything we needed in the kitchen. There are also really nice fruit and vegetable sellers nearby, and the meat is gorgeous, even the supermarket one (try Cordial in Thames).
We were greeted by Nancy who took very well care of us during all of our stay. We could ask her anything and she would answer directly and give us better advices than we asked for. We were even offered a refund for the two nights when there was an unfortunate power cut, affecting three buildings in the block. Please note that Nancy is the one you should be communicating with, once in Buenos Aires, and not Emma/Rowan who are not in Buenos Aires. It is a bit expensive, but apart from that, we totally recommend this apartment to anyone who wants a nice and relaxing stay, and who is not too sensitive to gentrification.
all was fine. The apartment is very comfortable and the neighborhood is awesome. You can walk to many places. we had a great time, thanks.
The location of the apartment is optimal. Right at the corner of two of the busiest streets in Palermo, and next to various shops and restaurants. The two bedsrooms were very spatious and with comfortable double beds. Everthing was clean and neat. The check in and check out was efficient and flexible. If I go back to Buenos Aires I would definitly stay at the apartment again.
Great experience for all of my group. Really pleasant place, clean, all rooms have air conditioner to fight BA's super-heat (at that time).
Superb and amazingly comfortable beds. The neighbourhood I already knew, but the apt is in the front of a great cafe for breakfast, and beside a Mexican restaurant.
The administrator is a really nice and caring guy, and replied all my questions really fast. I simply don't have any negatives to say.
If I travel with more people again, I'll surely try to stay there once more.
Well located and the right size for a family of five. Manuel is a great host.
The location of this apartment is hands down the best! No matter where we traveled in BA, we loved returning to our place in Palermo. The area has lots of restaurants, shops, bars and cafés. We loved the balcony overlooking the street and enjoyed people watching with a glass of wine.
The apartment is large and well suited for 4 people. It is not fancy, but generally clean. The one downside is the noise from the street into the wee hours of the morning, especially on the weekends. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place.
No exagero.
