Classy, Antique+ BEST location.

Apartment - Entire home/apt · El Salvador, Buenos Aires, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina

Location doesn't get much better than this. You have a balcony over looking a vibrant street, 2 unusually comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen and minimal but stylish lay out. Probably the best corner in palermo.

The Space

This is an antique apartment , in a low rise neighbourhood. Most places you'll find here will be in some kind of tower, and probably lack any soul.
Surrounded by places to eat, cafes and clothes shop, whilst not being on or close to any main roads gives the apartment a distinct , cosy and holiday like feel. This literally is the best corner in the area.

Bedroom 1 has a super expensive, high quality mattress, the type one only finds in the best hotels. It is euro king size. 2 m by 2m.
bedroom 2 has a queen size mattress, a little more firm, but also high quality.
Both bedrooms have a complete black out option.

The kitchen/diner/living room is a great space for socialising, cooking and enjoying your food/drinks, whilst watching the world go by, if you choose. The balcony is a small but cosy space(smoking allowed here only). There are a table and chairs, with some plants on the balcony.

You have cable tv, a high quality oven/hob, professional pans to cook with from abroad, a juicer, a blender, fast wifi internet and all you need to be self sufficient.

Whilst you do get some garbage/supply trucks passing occasionally, the apartment is not noisy. most of the background noise is of people talking whilst walking in the street. i personally find this welcoming.
This (email hidden), with no hidden nasties, you can walk the streets at 4/5/6/7 am close to here with no problems, which is more than can be said for many of the places you'll find.

We can accommodate parties upto 7, provided some are children.

Guest Access

shared terrace on top floor.

Interaction with Guests

Between myself and the property manager (for the times im not there), you will have efficient channels of communication. There is a wealth of advice in my info page also. feel free to ask any questions that may assist.

The Neighborhood

You are surrounded by Cafes , places to eat and cool clothes shops. Its as safe as it gets in Argentina. There is life around you 24/7, without suffering the noise of a main road.

Getting around

Taxi is the best way for tourists to travel, but the bus stop is 4 blocks away, and the subway 9.

  • Comfortable cosy accommodation as described. We travelled here as a group to attend a friend's wedding. Location was perfect with close access to a range of cool reateraunts cafés and bars.

We found Palermo to be awesome, and visiting all of ba is easy. Master bedroom comfortable and quiet. Second bedroom front onto Main Street and is mostly quiet with a little noise but consistent with living in any big city.

Rowan and his team were very responsive to any requests that we had an were very helpful in providing us with additional resources in the apartment when asked.

    Really enjoyed our stay.

  • The apartment was just as described, right in the middle of café life in Palermo, near the markets and shops and opposite a great café. Couldn't wish for more. First floor access was easy and the flat was clean and airy and easy to keep cool. Certainly in the best part of Palermo, restaurants, ice cream parlours, cafes and an excellent supermarket on Gordes Ave only 4 blocks away. I will happily rent it again when next I visit BA

  • The property was as described, in the heart of Palermo, with a lovely view over the cobbled street and cafes so you felt right in the atmosphere immediately. The flat was modern and spotlessly clean with everything you could need, and a lovely balcony to sit on and enjoy breakfast in the sun, and watch Palermo slowly waking up.

A lovely market every day in the Plaza Serrano, 2 blocks away. It is a great city to walk in, head down Borges to the Botanical Gardens, take in the Evita Museum, then off down Santa Fe to Florida Ave and the Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada. Only 10kms.

I never had enough coins to catch a bus!

  • El apartamento estaba muy sucio. No pudimos ni sacar la ropa de las maletas de como estaban los armarios.
La primera noche tuvimos que dormir en un hotel porque el dueño, Rowan, no contestaba al móvil

    Response from Rowan:

Mar and inma were asking to come back and stay in march, so it cant have been so bad. here is their email.
    Hi Rowan.
There is some stuff in the fridge in good state. You can take them if you want. Thats why we have not decided to throw them away.
We are leaving the apartment now.
Please confirm if the flat is free 2 and 3 of march.
Awaiting your news and thaks for everything.
    Cheers
    Mar and Inma

When they arrived they did not think to ring the door, and i was asleep on the floor, waiting for them. they also got a free night at the end, even though it was their mistake.
They complained about many things, but in the end they wanted another booking at my place, so make up your own mind about how they really felt.
Mid night check ins are not normal for anyone, and they can be tricky. this time, the girls did not use common sense and ring the bell, yet they like to avoid all responsibility and blame anyone else instead.

This is only 1 of 3 bad experiences with guests in almost 2 years of using air bnb for various purposes, but in the end, everything worked out ok...so i am not sure of the point of this review.

  • Rowan's apartment is great and in the heart of Palermo SOHO which is one of the best neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires. There are amazing bars and restaurants right on your door step and the vibe in the neighbourhood is incredible! We experienced a delay with check-in and the second bathroom was used as a storage room so we had to arrange for the cleaner to remove storage and clean, but other than that, we were very happy with the apartment. I would recommend Rowan's apartment!

  • Great apartment in a great location right in the heart of Palermo Viejo. Very beautiful place, nicely decorated, with a beautiful balcony. A minor issue: in one of the two bedrooms an aircon from the building next door makes some noises during the day, so if you are noise-sensitive it might bother you a bit. Fortunately, it was always turned off during the night.

  • The apartment was perfectly located and beautifully appointed. Rowan and his team were easy to work with, from outside Argentina before we arrived as well as during our stay.

I can't say enough about how great the neighborhood is as a home base during a stay in BA - more cafes, restaurants and shops than we could visit in our 4 days.

We were 5 people and stayed comfortably with shared beds.

I highly recommend this apartment and Rowan.

About
Having been a traveller for many years for my work, Argentina was the third country in which i decided to live. Whilst its a third world country, there is a joy to life and warmth from the people which is difficult to find in the west. I lived in Australia for almost 2 years, and previously only in the UK. I am without doubt a sun worshipper, and enjoy nature and green spaces, however, buenos aires suited a period in my life, one in which chaos ruled, and for the other end of the spectrum, it is one of the greatest spots on the planet. There is so much to see in argentina, including some of the most breath taking nature. If you have time, you must goto patagonia to enjoy the lakes, mountains and log cabins. Between myself and the property manager , we can assist your stay with help and information, to ensure you have the best possible time. Feel free to ask any for any tips and info.
