Jake was a great host, highly recommended.
we had a wonderful time at Jakes 'place, he's been very cool and nice, always available to answer any question, hiiiiighly recomanded , just leave it free when I want to go back or I bite :-)))
We did not interact much but Jake is on top of things.Prompt and courteous. Highly recommended.
Jake was a great host. He accommodated our early check-in and was very communicative throughout. The accommodation and location were great, just far enough to make you feel like you can retreat away from the city, but close enough to walk to the main beach and downtown Leblon. I'd highly recommend a stay at Jake's place.
Apartment was not quite what I expected. I've been traveling 2months in different hostels for $20/day or less and I have to say this was the worst and the price was more than 10 times than that.
Pictures from the place and comments from others leaded me to wrong direction. Since I already paid the whole week (which was huge mistake) I couldn't leave the place either.
Location was not too bad against the Sheraton hotel, but favela was next door and one night I hear gun shots. Rooms were clean, expect the ant invasion and other small bugs. First night I didn't know how to use water heating system, but next day neighbor helped since host were traveling elsewhere. Bed mattress were really bad, I could feel the wood instantly. Smaller bed didn't feel to have mattress at all.
This is the only bad review I've ever gotten for this apartment. This is an oceanfront apartment in the best neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro and he was staying here during super-high season. He flew to Rio from Peru, where he was staying in hostels and was no doubt paying much less. During the period around Carnaval there are lots of people setting off fireworks and fire crackers and I'm sure that's what he must have heard--not "gunshots". This is not a fair review and it does not deserve to appear on my listing.
The place is awesome! Jake's friend Laura was amazing and so helpful - she greeted me and showed me around town - a superstar! Everyone one in the building is really nice and you also have time for yourself. The view from the room and deck is beautiful - the pics don't lie :-) Yes, there are some stairs but that's for the view and it's very easy to get around - less than 10 min walk to the heart of Leblon or a couple min by taxi, van or bus. I loved this place and would love to come back. Thanks, Jake and Laura.
We had a great time staying at Jake's place. It was a little small, however it had an amazing view! Jake was a great host.
Very cool little apartment with an amazing view, great deck space (including a roof deck for romantic dinners), and in an amazing location. The apartment is simple, but has everything you need, including WIFI. For the price, it's a great deal, and Jake is a great host who ensures you have everything you need. Great case of characters as your neighbors too!
We stayed at one of Jake's apartments for a few days in November 2012 and we can definitely say that Jake is a great host, always available and very helpful.
The apartment is a bit old and with a very small kitchen. However it has a very nice view and it was wonderful waking up every morning to sound of the waves in the ocean!
I went there with two friends and we all thought Jake was the best host we could have. He helped with all the info on everything we needed and even hang out with us and showed us around.
The place is beautiful, the department very nice and it's easy to move around.
