This space offers a truly unique yet authentic NYC experience. We aim to facilitate an insiders perspective on the city. You'll find a home filled with art and memories from the city's past and present.

The Space

Our TWO ROOM APARTMENT is on the third floor of a secure four floor walk-up on a corner in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

We have up to FOUR FULL SIZE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS that can fit 1 or 2 people each.

Guest Access

We provide LINENS & TOWELS, toiletries, wifi, A/C (July - September), and kitchen access with coffee, tea and appliances. We can also arrange for online grocery delivery for no additional fee ahead of your stay if you would like.

Interaction with Guests

You may meet us upon arrival and if you would like we would be happy to go out with you for a walk or a drink, otherwise you're on your own to enjoy our home and city. If you need anything from our end we're a simple message away.

The Neighborhood

Brooklyn is the rare gem of the city's crown and Bedford Stuyvesant is a really forward thinking location to explore from. It's authenticity is what keeps us here and away from encroaching hipster-traps like Williamsburg, which is a great place to visit but can wear you and your purse down quite quickly if you have to wake up there.

Bed-Stuy is at the very heart of the borough. We encourage you to explore the neighborhood and borough as it is a city all its own. Some local highlights include great food, a neighborhood park perfect for picnicking designed by Olmsted (of Central Park and Prospect Park fame), and a public pool just a few blocks away.

Getting around

10-15 minute walk to J/M train to Manhattan.
30 min to Chinatown & Little Italy.
45 min to Times Square.
Plus all of Brooklyn awaits you by bus! (Check out our guidebook for suggestions)

We are near the J,M&Z which will zip you into Manhattan on an elevated line across the Williamsburg bridge with beautiful views. We are also near a number of bus lines one of which will take you straight to JFK Airport, the others will whisk you around to all of Brooklyn's great neighborhoods.

Other Things to Note

  • Lester's apartment was very pleasant to stay in and very close to the subway.
The neighborhood was very calm, we had a very nice stay!

  • Lester is a very accomodating person. We booked barely 2 days before coming to Brroklyn and arrived late in the evening and he was still avalaible to give us the information we need (about the key deposite). He is very very helpful.
I highly recomment Lester, he is definitely an AirBNB precursor.
About the location, the appartment is about 10 min walk from the subway station on Myrthle Avenue, which is about 30 min from downtown NYC (Times Square). It is very quiet compared to Downtown NY where we spent 3 nights too. The appartment looks like the same as shown in the picture. We were 5 the first night and 4 the second one. There is one queen size bed in the bedroom and 2 adaptable beds in the living room.
    A great experience, thanks Lester!!

  • A very atmospheric place in the heart of Brooklyn. Lester was a great hosts. I particularly appreciated the quietness at night, New York events calendar he has prepared for us and a CD player with a great selection of music. Unforgettable experience. I wish I could stay there a little bit longer. Hope to come back one day.

  • Lester and his girlfriend Mary are delightful. I feel bad that he had to meet my friends after a long red-eye flight because quite frankly, we were zombies. The apartment is spacious and in an up and coming neighborhood in Brooklyn. The beds were comfy and it had all the amenities one would need. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to stay in a less busy part of NYC.

Lester went out of his way to invite us to a boat cruise hosted by Airbnb but we got lost and didn't make it- sorry Lester! Also, I didn't put the keys back correctly due to being half asleep on my way to a 6am flight- again, sorry Lester! Thanks for being great hosts.

  • Lesters Flat is amazing! You can find all you need there. The location is also very well. We had some awesome days in NYC and in these rooms. Thanks a lot Lester!

  • Great stay at Lesters. Nice roomy appartment, with a personal touch. Basic kitchen, but with character. Shower/bathroom ok. Beds were fine. Although there isn't much to do in thecdirect neighboorhood, we never felt unsafe. It is 10 minut walk to the metro. Lester is well organised: on his macmini you can find anything you would like to know about whats happening in NY. Great!

  • The apartment was perfect for our group of four. There was plenty of space and everything was clean. Lester was very helpful and responded quickly to all my emails. The computer and wifi along with city maps that Lester had available made it really easy to get around NYC. Highly recommend especially for the price.

  • Great stay at Lester's flat. Clean, spacious and comfortable there is everything you need here.

  • Lester was more than accommodating. We had a large crew of Skateboarders staying in NYC for an event, and his flat was the perfect place for us to stay: Clean, more than enough space for 7 of us, and only a stones throw away from the hustle and bustle of Williamsburg. We actually messed up on our booking and thought we had one more day than we actually did; Lester was completely understanding, and helpful throughout the whole experience. Thanks Lester!
