Peaceful Artist Home Beach/Aquarium

House - Private room · Benito Ct, Pacific Grove, CA 93950, United States

The Space

Welcome! Enjoy a getaway to our California artist's home. This is a very relaxed coastal "locals" experience. The house has an amazing ocean view, floor to ceiling windows, lots of natural light, plants, original art, comfortable furniture, fireplace, and a lovely garden. Zeus, our small three-legged blind wonder dog and host extraordinaire also lives with us. Of course, you are welcome to play piano or guitar, cook, stay in and read a good book or venture out into the wild. We will be happy to share our favorite haunts and hikes.

The BLUE Room bedroom has one queen bed (2 people) and one loft single bed (1 person) for 1-3 people. It's quiet, roomy and clean, with a floor to ceiling windows. The beds have great mattresses. The room has a light blocking shade if you want to sleep in. There is also a small desk, armoire, wireless internet access, and a TV with DVD (if you want us to set it up, otherwise there isn't a TV in the room). The BLUE room has a shared bath with tub and shower.

NOTE: We have another listing on the same property, CALIFORNIA DREAMING, which is a private garden bungalow with an ocean view, king-sized bed and a private bathroom with a sky shower. It sleeps 1-3 people and is very romantic. One night stays are accepted during weekdays.

Groups up to 8 people can be accommodated by combining rooms in the house and the CA Dreaming bungalow. Please contact us regarding availability and pricing.

Also, during special events our prices may be higher and we may ask for a longer minimum stay.

The house is very private and in a cul-du-sac with plenty of safe parking. Full use of the house includes:
Kitchen with gas stove, microwave and space in the refrigerator. Cooks welcome!
Living/dining room with ocean view, fireplace and piano.
We offer good coffee and a selection of gourmet teas each morning. Join us!
Wi-fi is very strong indoors and outside.
Outdoor garden patio with deck chairs, a picnic table, BBQ.
Bathrooms: We use all green cleaning products and have complimentary organic toiletries, hair dryer and iron/ironing board. All linens and towels included.
Garage with washer and dryer and room for your bicycle, golf clubs, surfboard or extra stuff.
Trader Joe's and Safeway grocery stores are 2 minutes away, Whole Foods is 10 minutes away.

  • Evan was an extremely warm and welcoming host, full of incredible recommendations (do take him up on his restaurant advice if you stay, especially Julia's). The view from the house is amazing and although it is a 10 minute drive it is is a great place from which to explore the coast, beaches, state parks and big sur. Highly recommended.

  • Sarah was a lovely host. She was very accommodating and even purchased various snacks for our party to snack on over the weekend. A group of friends were down in the Monterey/Carmel area for a wedding weekend, and everything worked out very well. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us for the weekend!

  • Sara and Evan welcomed us like old friends! In fact I consider them friends now.
    We really enjoined our stay.
They went the extra mile, recommending points of interest , helping us with directions, and even gave us a ride to the air port when we got into a jam!
    THANKS AGAIN!

  • Sarah and Evan were great hosts! Their house was clean and very peaceful with a great view. It was great talking to them about things to do and they were more than accommodating with our bikes and stuff. Zeus is an adorable dog! We will definitely try booking this place every time we head to Monterey!

  • Sarah and Evan were wonderful hosts. They made sure we had everything we could possibly need, and were full of suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We really enjoyed our time there. The house is calm and has a wonderful view from the dining room. It's close enough to Pacific Grove/Monterey to be easily accessible, yet far enough to feel like a little retreat.

  • We really enjoyed both our home away from home and our Hosts. Sarah and Evan had great ideas and were very helpful as well as just great to be with and they went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay. It was nice to get the aquarium passes for a day too.

  • What a wonderful stay...Sarah and Evan were fantastic hosts, so warm and welcoming (as was their gorgeous dog Zeus), their home was a relaxing oasis during our visit to Monterey. They gave us some fantastic restaurant recommendations (both in Monterey / Pacific Heights and beyond in Big Sur - all of which we took up and enjoyed immensely). We would highly recommend staying with Sarah and Evan, we arrived as strangers and left as friends - most definitely what the Airbnb experience is about.

  • I wanted to experience the Pacific Grove area while traveling for my job, and this is exactly what I got. It's a short walk, bus ride or cab ride to all the points of interest in the south Monterey Bay area. I had a clean, comfortable room and felt very at home the entire time.

  • My trip was all last minute--EEK! Sarah and Evan were gracious, communicative (they responded quickly to my e-mail inquiries while out of the country on holiday--amazing!) and accommodating to my arriving late in the evening. The person who was caretaking their home was friendly, delightfully playful and equally at ease when I took quiet solo time.

I was attending a seminar in Monterey and found their location to be perfect for my needs. It was an easy drive to the seminar and I truly valued the ability to decompress in a home vs. a hotel room each evening. I felt gifted by the ability to use their kitchen so that I could sustain myself with healthful meals and snacks while away from home.

This was my first Airbnb experience and they made it a breeze. Thank you!

  • Very nice place. We felt very comfortable and used the kitchen several times. Our hosts left us coffee and tea for our breakfast. It is about 10 minutes to the ocean by car. Aquarium passes were a much appreciated bonus.

About
Hello, Evan and I moved from San Francisco to Pacific Grove nine years ago. Evan is an entrepreneur and I am a songwriter. Our kids just moved so we have extra rooms. We have used Airbnb throughout Europe and are happy to now be offering our own home to others. Our interests are traveling, reading, hiking, good food and interesting conversation, rock balancing, yoga, writing and music. We try to get to the beach daily where we walk our three legged dog Zeus.
