This cozy coastal design and creative space is conveniently located in the heart of Carolina Beach and only 2 blocks from the beach and lake. A 5 minute walk to the Boardwalk is lots of great restaurants, shops, rentals, amusement rides, bars, coffee, ice-cream, donuts, an arcade & more!
Enjoy a hike through the state park, a visit to the aquarium, or a summer movie by the lake!

The Sunrise Shack is a historic 1945 cottage boasting one of the best locations on the island, just a short walk to the family-friendly Carolina Beach Lake, the beach with convenient public showers and restrooms, and the iconic Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Spend your days enjoying local restaurants, live entertainment, shops, and the famous Britt's Donut Shop—all without needing to drive. Whether you're relaxing by the lake, soaking up the sun on the beach, or exploring the heart of Carolina Beach, everything you need is just steps away.
History in the making:
Please keep in mind that this is a 1945 historic cottage that has survived many significant hurricanes. The floors are uneven in some areas and the walls are original knotty pine which give the home so much character. If you're looking for perfection, historic cottages may not be for you.

Dishes, pots/pans, utensils, drip coffee pot, coffee, and tea.
What's provided:
Bed linens and 4 bath towels provided, as well as hand soap, dish soap, shampoo and conditioner, trash bags, and paper towels and enough toilet paper to get you started. If you plan to stay more than a few days, we recommend picking up extras along the way.
High-speed internet:
WiFi available throughout the home and Roku equipped smart TV's in both bedrooms and main living room (connect your own streaming services).
Pets:
Well trained pets welcome with fee. Please let us know at time of booking if you will be bringing pets and how many. Two pet limit, one time $200 pet fee per pet applies. The non-refundable pet fee is spread evenly across your nightly rate at checkout. Please clean up after your dogs promptly — the outdoor space should be left as you found it. Dogs must stay off furniture and linens. No other animals please. The backyard is fully fenced but one fence is only 3ft tall.
Arrival & departure:
Check-in is at 4:00 PM via keyless PIN — your code arrives before you do. Checkout is by 10:00 AM sharp. Due to our cleaning team's schedule, early check-ins and late checkouts aren't available at this property. Please don't park on the premises before check-in or after checkout. Unapproved late departures may incur a $200 fee.
Care of the cottage:
Our team takes great pride in this little gem. Please skip the bleach on anything during your stay — our cleaners handle that between guests. For the stainless steel appliances, stainless-only cleaners please — anything else causes rust and nobody wants that. No incense or essential oil diffusers — scents linger and some guests have sensitivities.
Smoke-free property:
The Sunrise Shack cottage is 100% smoke-free indoors. Smoking inside will result in a $200 deodorization fee.
Outdoor spaces:
Long screened in front porch is perfect for sipping coffee while watching the sunrise. New spacious back deck and outdoor shower is great for family and friends after a long day at the beach. Enjoy yard games, relaxing sunsets, or let your dog run free in our large backyard.
Parking:
2 free spaces available: located on the far right of the home, and right next to the 3ft. high white block wall. Please do not park in front of the garage, we have reserved this space for our downstairs guests. Please be respectful of our neighbors and avoid parking in their yards.
Guest Access:
Private access to entire 2nd main level unit (2 bed/1 bath). Our bathroom is small and contains a stand up shower. We also have an outside shower located in the backyard that you can use during the summer. Entry through front door and back door. Keyless PIN code lock on front door that is specific to you.
Visitors:
Any additional visitors beyond the booked party must be approved by the host in advance.
Rental agreement:
A short rental agreement is required before check-in. Straightforward, quick, and in place to protect everyone.
Cancellation:
Travel insurance is recommended, as we adhere to the cancellation and refund policy set by Airbnb.

Have a larger group and need more space? Stay close and reserve the bottom unit of this duplex! Each unit has its own private and completely separate outside entrance.
