Drummond House is one of our 3 all season yurts situated in Kearney, ON, in the beautiful Almaguin Highlands. Close to Algonquin Park, Arrowhead Provincial Park and central to many beautiful walking/ATV/Cycle/cross country skiing and Sledding trails. We are just across from The Magnetawan river system - great for fishing, and just 5 minutes from the public beach, dock and boat launch. Close to all that nature has to offer, let your adventure begin in the 'biggest little town' in Ontario!

The space
What’s included...

Drummond House has one queen and one double bed and can sleep 4.

A small kitchenette area where basic crockery/cutlery and glassware/kettle/coffee press/Coffee/Tea/sugar/coffee creamer/salt and pepper/paper towel/dish soap and drying rack are provided - there is a table with an umbrella outside for your cooking equipment - no cooking is permitted in the yurt.

Your own private outhouse - toilet paper/hand sanitizer is provided

We provide you with drinking water - and water for washing dishes

A wood burning stove - we supply enough wood and fire starters to last you for your stay - if you require more - it can be purchased and delivered to your yurt for $10

Your yurt has its own fire pit/cooking grill and outdoor chairs. Wood is not provided but can be purchased for $10/bundle and delivered to your yurt

A charcoal BBQ - charcoal is provided

Each yurt has its own picnic table for outside dining and a foldaway table/chairs for inside dining

Each yurt has a portable 1000 watt power station with AC/USB ports

We offer shower facilities in the main building for $10/person/stay - towels are included

There is a restaurant on site if you don’t wish to cook and there are several restaurants in town/close by for alternative dining options.

Have something to celebrate? Ask us about our charcuterie boards! We can have it all set up for your arrival

Pet owners must inform us of all pets visiting.

Your own outside cooking apparatus if you don’t want to use the charcoal BBQ - cooking/open flame is not permitted inside the yurt

Guest access
There is free parking onsite.
Everything in town is within walking distance - a vehicle is necessary to get to Algonquin Park and surrounding areas. You can rent canoes and Kayaks in town.

Other things to note
*PLEASE NOTE*
Our yurts are a few minutes walk from the parking area - no motorized vehicles permitted - please pack accordingly.

We will do our best to help you transport your belongings to your yurt, however this is not always possible - in those instances, we have a green carry cart available for your use - situated next to the log pile where you park your vehicle - please return to its place after use.

Welcome to Kearney, the ‘biggest little town’ in Ontario!

Located in the beautiful Almaguin Highlands, we are close to Algonquin Provincial Park, Arrowhead Provincial Park and central to many beautiful walking/ATV/Cycle/cross-country skiing and Sledding trails - we are connected directly to the D trail!

For trail maps, park passes and more information, please visit the Ontario Parks Office in the main building on site (May-Oct)

Our property is situated across from part of the Magnetawan river system (great for fishing!) We are just 5 minutes from the public dock overlooking Mirror Bay - opposite the LCBO

There is a small public beach in town – over the bridge and to the left

There are two seasonal outdoor outfitters in town (May-Oct) where you can rent canoes and kayaks, book tours and much more!

Algonquin Base Camp Adventure Outfitters and Supply – go to stop sign and turn right

Canoe Algonquin – go through stop sign and it is a 5 minute walk on the left

Nostalgia is a fabulous little antique/gift store – left at the LCBO and it is on the left

Huntsville is the closest ‘big’ town – definitely worth a visit for its historic main street, where you will find lots of unique stores and restaurants
