About This Listing
My roommate and I have a small town home in West Seattle. We have an extra room downstairs with a daybed. The room has a desk in it but not much else. The bathroom is upstairs and is shared. We have a kitchen that you are welcome to make full use of!
The nice thing about West Seattle is that it is quiet but still close to downtown. We have a bus stop about 20 yards from us with a bus to downtown that comes quiet often (every 20 minutes usually). To get downtown it only takes about 15 minutes and if you enjoy riding bikes there are some lovely paths.
We do have a dog so if you are allergic this may not be ideal for you. Otherwise, we are both respectful of other people and you are welcome to watch movies with us (we don't have cable) or just hang out. We both work jobs that sometimes have strange hours but with enough notice can show you around the city!
The one thing that we do ask is that you take a look at the check in/check out times. We are flexible with enough notice.
Once you have confirmed you will be able to see directions to get you here via car or public transportation.
We do have a lot of guests who are wanting to stay for long periods of time. We do have a monthly rate available that should pop up when you look at dates. The room is a smaller room so it is not suitable for more than one person. If you are staying longer we do have a very small garage that we might be able to offer to help you keep a bike or something small. If you are bringing a car, there is plenty of street parking near.
If there is anything we can do to make your stay better please ask!
West Seattle is a great quiet place to escape the city but also close enough to get there within just a few minutes. A few of the highlights are Alki Beach for recreation and breathtaking views of Seattle and the Olympic mountains. The "junction" offers great restaurants and shopping and directly nearby to us are some fun coffee shops and parks.
We are right on the bus line which gets you downtown in about 15 minutes.
Other Things to Note
We use airbnb to help play our bills so help us conserve water and remember to turn off lights when you leave a room.
We try to respond to all inquiries within a few hours but take a poke around on here and we've attempted to answer all possible questions. Thanks!!
We only have one real concern. There is a dog in the house and he is very calm and well-behaved but he sometimes gets very excited about going outside as most dogs do :) Please take care to ensure that you close the door when coming and going.
Lara was very welcoming, friendly and just a perfect all around host. My first experience and won't be my last. Place was very clean and organized, cute friendly puppy and easy to get to. The day bed is large (I'm 6'3" and fit just fine) and comfortable. Highly recommended for staying just outside the city only 5 min from downtown. You'll definitely see me again :)
It's a great place to stay. Would stay again. Very comfortable with amenities.
Another great experience, would stay again for sure! Thanks guys!
I had to come in very late and Lara was very accommodating. My trip involved early raising and late nights. So really I just slept there. That being said, the room was well taken care of and quiet. I would stay there again.
What a great experience! Laura and Dave are super cool people, very laid back. Carlo the dog is sweet. The room was perfect and comfortable. It was all I needed:) I highly recommend!
About the Host, Lara-Ashley
I am from Seattle, WA and wanting to explore a bit more of the world now that I have a more flexible work schedule!
I am 30 years old and love exploring new places. I am a bit of a photo-annoyer. I love taking pictures all the time. I have used airbnb both as a gust and a host and enjoy the experiences of each. Airbnb has helped me travel all over and I am thrilled to be able to invite people to my home.
The closest store to the house.
The West Seattle Water Taxi is a fun way to travel between West Seattle and Downtown during the summer.
A personal favorite. Great pizza, right on the water.
This is one of the best views you will get in West Seattle. From here you will be able to see the Seattle skyline to the East and the Olympic mountain range to the west.
Perfect for a morning walk. Even in the rainy months this is a nice walk.
I recommend taking the monorail from Westlake Mall to the Space Needle. You can easily make an entire day out of exploring the Seattle Center and then Pike Place Market using the monorail.
