Bright studio inthe heart of Venice

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Campiello San Samuele, Venice, Italy, Venezia, Veneto 30124, Italy

The Space

Very close to Piazza San Marco - The studio (30 sq mt) is part of the fourteenth-century Palazzo Malipiero overlooking Grand Canal next to Palazzo Grassi, located in the delightful San Samuele district - a calm and cultured neighbourhood with a gentle, upmarket buzz where galleries sit close to antique shops, well clear of the hustle and bustle yet a mere stone's throw to the Palazzo Grassi Museum of Modern Art and the Campo Santo Stefano with its inviting outdoor cafes and local colour.
The studio is located on the third floor and consists of a large quiet room with high ceilings (with two beds, a kitchenette - kitchen cabinet - and a large table) and a separate nice fully equipped bathroom. The room and bathroom are both bright and sunny and overlook venetian roofs.
The studio is equipped with wifi internet, washing machine, toaster, TV, heating and air conditioning. Public transports just next to the house (San Samuele vaporetto stop). The two beds, if required, can be pulled and tighten together to form a comfortable queen size bed.

THE AREA
Close to a grocery/delicatessen and wine shop and opposite the gallery of world famous Venetian wood sculptor Livio De Marchi, well known for ‘driving’ through the canals of Venice in his carved wooden ‘cars’ and, for scent-lovers, steps from Venice outlet of the famous Florentine ‘Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’ – one of the oldest pharmacies in the world and one time fragrance maker to Catherine de’ Medici.
Beautiful multiplex cinema at 5 minutes walk (Multisala Rossini) with 3 movie theatres.

  • Beautiful small apartment in an amazing location - close to everything you want to explore yet far enough away to be very quiet and without tourists! Just steps away from a gorgeous Campo at the end of the Accademia Bridge, full of restaurants and cafes. Lovely rooftop views. Kitchen perfect for making a quick breakfast and coffee. Beds double as couches, so not incredibly plush, but fully functional. Very grateful for the washing machine and hairdryer, too! I stayed for two weeks, and could have stayed for much much longer if I didn't have to leave for work!!

  • I stayed in Martina's apartment for two weeks and it was just what I wanted: clean, comfortable and in a good location. Everything necessary was provided. I was met at the vaporetto stop by Martina's mother who showed me the apartment, and the only queries that arose during my stay (about rubbish collection and check-out time) were answered quickly and pleasantly by email by Martina herself. I would stay here again.

  • Wonderful location, excellent if you want to use the vaporetto, Simple and clean...very quiet comfortable for sleep. Great neighborhood, accessible to all. Kitchenette supplied well, but best for limited cooking or just a simple breakfast.

  • I had a very pleasant stay. The pictures are accurate. Martina's mother met us and brought us to the apartment, which is up a couple flights of stairs. The studio feels much larger than it actually is due to the very high ceilings. The bathroom is also a very good size, and the washing machine provided is a bonus. There is also an air conditioner available, but we didn't really need it. The room was also very clean.

It is located literally right off the San Samuele Vaporetto stop on the Vaporetto #2, and there is also a traghetto right there to get you across to the other side of the Grand Canal. It's also a short walk to San Marco, and a nice stroll to the Rialto. Venice is an amazing place, and this is a good place to pick as your home base (at a better value than most) .

  • Staying at Martina's studio was a delight and a joy. The location of the studio is superb. As I was working in both the Marciana and Archivio di Stato di Venezia, it was approximately halfway between the two sites. It is a beautiful, quiet, sunny studio and the bathroom and kitchenette included in the studio make it a perfect home away from home. Located close to a Simply supermarket for those with extended stays, it can certainly help out budget travelers and longer-term visitors. It's close to the action of Venice but it also is tucked off the main drag, so to speak, enough that one can really relax in the frenetic city. Martina herself was a joy to engage with and her mother, who lives above the studio, is equally delightful and helpful. I simply cannot recommend this studio enough. It's wonderful.

  • This was the perfect place to stay! I called it my “nun’s quarters” as it was quite minimalist, but every mod-con, modern bathroom, laundry, a lovely little kitchen that you could close the doors on to hide it when you wanted, and the most wonderful view over the red-tiled rooftops you could imagine. The perfect writer’s garrett, if you are so inclined. Two little beds, narrow but comfortable; the one with bolsters I used as a reading sofa, and the other to sleep. Couple of food shops close by, so you can cook.

It is well-located in San Marco, right on the Campo San Samuele on the canal, with its own vaporetto stop, but no cafes on the campo so very quiet. Campo San Stefano is an easy every-morning-walk if you want the cafes. And the Accademia Bridge is right there, so Dorsoduro is easily accessible. Note that it is a bit of a stair climb to the apartment, so it probably wouldn't be appropriate for anyone with walking problems. And upon first arrival, it is a little difficult to find if you don't arrive on the vaporetto that stops right on the campo, so best not to arrive at night.

Martina is lovely, instantly responsive to any email query, and wonderfully so, as she is so friendly and helpful. Her mother lives next door; gracious, kind and attentive.

  • We had a very pleasant stay in Venice by living at Martina. The apartment is completely in accordance with the description and with the photos, ideally situated and very quiet. Everything was very clean and Martina had kind attentions by providing us with biscuits and food for the breakfast. I recommend very warmly this address!
