About this listing
Beautiful apartment with balcony in the Recoleta district, one block from Plaza Vicente Lopez, located on a very quiet street close to shops and restaurants.
** This is a full rental, you will have the whole studio to yourself *
Beautiful apartment with balcony in the Recoleta district, one block away from Plaza Vicente Lopez, in a very quiet street though close to shops and restaurants. This unique spot in the Recoleta neighbourhood is right in the middle where the elegant porteños live. Small restaurants where locals go offer homemade meals that showcase the real porteño taste.
A mixture between the french aim Buenos Aires had in early 1900, the anglo impression british imprinted with their business and the italian flavour that immigrants brought in. This cosmopolitan blends shows up in every trendy shop you find in Recoleta with upscale shows that cost half the price their competitors in USA, and even less comparing them to the shops in Europe.
But location is not only about what happens just few blocks around. This apartment is walking distance from the most renowned and important museums and art centers, as well as art galleries and antique shops.
Plaza San Martín, the entrance point to Downtown and Plaza de Mayo is only eight blocks away. Recoleta Cemetery is only six blocks away. And our blocks are only 100 meters long, i.e. 333 feet! piece of cake for a walk.
Pets allowed on premises. We ask owners to take good care of them so as to avoid barking. No kids or pets should be left unattended at the apartment.
Smoking is allowed at the balcony only.
We beg you not to use hand towels as bathroom matt, should we, by any chance, had forgotten to provide us, please remind us and we will bring it ASAP, but please hel us keep our towels in a nice shape.
Cleaning service is provided once a week for stays longer than six days, you can ask for a towel exchange if you wish for only the laundry cost (U$8)
Telephone is free for local calls and for reaching owner, maid and handy man cellular phones.
They were very helpful with us as we arrived early to the apartment and had a place for us to put our bags. the trip was short, but it was good. Thank you
My girlfriend and I just returned from 9 nights staying at Ximena's Recoleta apartment. It was in a great location and we had a very nice time. The apartment was comfortable and fit our needs quite perfectly. Thank you Ximena and Rocio!
Had a wonderful experience in the apartment. The location is central and wonderful. Rocio was extremely helpful in suggesting locations, organizing cab ride to and from the airport as well as exchanging money. The view outside of the balcony was fantastic, making it an ideal setting for breakfast and a late night glass of wine.
Ximena was a wonderful host! She even picked me up from the airport and helped me change money to pesos :)
The place is just as it is in the pictures. The balcony is beautiful and I enjoyed drinking wine and eating out there. This place had everything! Air conditioning, hot water and wifi. Recoleta is a safe nice area. I walked around everywhere, which really isn't that far since their blocks are small. There are lots of great restaurants and cafes all within walking distance
We were ultimately a bit disappointed with our stay at Xinema's apartment considering how good the reviews were.
Communication was very good up until the point of the trip. When we arrived, no one was there to meet us, but we called and someone came (though not Ximena) to give us the keys very promptly. We weren't given any advice (other than where the cockroach killing spray was - something used in anger moe than once), there's no "hosts guide", tips or anything; no greeting pack; maybe we have just been spoiled by previous AirBNB experiences.
The location really is excellent; there are many great barrios to stay in in Buenos Aires, Recoleta is one - if that's the place you want to stay, you couldn't do much better than Ximena's. You are walking distance to good bars, restaurants, many sites, and you can walk into downtown easily. The street is *relatively* quiet (the balcony window will still rattle when buses go past, and late night partiers might keep you up - but this describes many, many parts). The only downside is it's not as close to the Subte but that describes much of Recoleta.
The apartment inside is okay, but the furnishings are quite tired and tatty. The kitchen is more accurately a kitchenette, there is just a single portable electric hob and a small fridge. The bed and bedding is good. We had some problems with the internet dropping out, but it was reliable enough.
The building is old and the lift up to the 7th floor might scare you. We didn't see a doorman during our stay (which, from my experience in Buenos Aires, is an exception rather than a rule).
Ultimately the place is fine for a bolt-hole to explore the city for a few days. I guess for the price and the other rave reviews, we were expecting something else.
Ximena is extraordinary, she was very pleasant and accommodating , friendly, funny, and bent over backwards to help us , loaned us her notepad and watched out for us.
The place was sweet, clean, comfortable and a great location in a fabulous neighborhood, has everything we need plus a great balcony view of street and neighborhood life. we are going back and definitely staying with Ximena again, thank you thank you
We had a lovely stay at Ximena's place. Great communication throughout the booking process and very helpful during our stay. Her cousin made our check in/out very flexible and easy. The neighborhood is lovely and easy to get to any part of the city. The apartment is just as shown in the pictures: clean, comfortable, great balcony and all the appliances to make the place homey. Would definitely stay again.

About the Host, Ximena
I am an absolute Buenos Aires lover, I really adore my city and over most the Recoleta district where I was born. Mother of four, started this hosting business in 2004 when my third child was four years old and about to start school all day long. The prospect of a lot of spare time made me look out for something to do that could be compatible with raising kids, so here I am hosting travellers in my spot in the world, sharing all my tips and secrets. Buenos Aires, Recoleta.
