Welcome to Casita Betty! This tiny home is located at the Woodlands Nature Reserve, and is the perfect place for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Just 25 minutes from historic Charleston lies thousands of acres of natural beauty and we included bikes and kayaks for you to explore and unwind at this private lakeside retreat.

The space
Upon entering The Woodlands Nature Reserve you’ll find yourself removed from the paved road as you navigate a winding dirt path deep into the Reserve to arrive at Casita Betty.

Once you arrive at the house, you’ll be immediately treated by a stunning view of South Lake. Rest in one of the Adirondack chairs as you grill your favorite meal.

When it’s time to head inside, you won’t be disappointed by the easy-living style. In its craftsman design, the place is as functional as it is elegantly simple. You will find fresh linens on the lofted queen sized bed, comfortable pub-style seating at the window, and a bathroom with soap and shampoo provided.

Although Casita Betty provides an escape from your hectic everyday life, creature comforts and amenities are still provided for you. From the remote-controlled air conditioning, microwave, coffee maker, and a small refrigerator/freezer, you give up nothing in the way of convenience. Additionally, we provide a hotplate and cooking/eating utensils!

There is a TV with Roku so that you may utilize any of your favorite applications.

If you feel the urge to get out and explore, we have included bikes and kayaks in your stay, there are four lakes, a black swamp, and an abundance of natural beauty and wildlife lie at your fingertips. We have a few small resident alligators in the waters, so we don’t recommend taking a dip.

The privately-owned property is one of the largest protected reserves in the area. From bird watchers to equestrians, outdoor enthusiasts from all walks of life come to enjoy camping, events, and other recreational activities.

Note on fishing: at The Woodlands Nature Reserve fishing is not allowed, as we strive to maintain the complete natural habitat of the lake ecosystem so that all guest may enjoy the sites of the fish.

We frequently have special events happening so please make sure to check out the nature reserve on social media to learn more about our programming during your stay:
