Interaction with Guests
Interaction with guests is welcomed when assistance is required. Access to your room is through the family area and I usually greet you in the mornings and evenings. Occasionally when my timetable permits, we have a shared meal if you want to participate, but it is not compulsory. In my experience as a host I have found that some people want to have interaction with the family while others prefer to be left to enjoy their time alone. I try to respect guests' wishes in that regard.

we had such a great time staying at Joanne's home! Joanne is such a thoughtful and sweet host who gives clear travel information around the city! we were so lucky to be there and shared the warmth of her family too! location of the house is perfect! walking distance to CBD and easy to get to anywhere else. highly recommend and I would definitely come back!
Joanne was an incredibly accommodating and warm host, making our last few dates in Perth some of the best we spent there. The room is even better than described, and the rec room is a wonderful addition to the house.
The location is excellent, and the neighbourhood peaceful. Thoroughly recommended.
Joanne was great. I arrived quite late and she was really accommodating. Everything was so easy and stress free. Such a fantastic location as well - so close to the cultural precinct and the CBD. Thanks, loved it!
My friend Garrett and I stayed in the Balcony Room in the Money Street House for a week while attending a conference at UWA. We absolutely loved it. The location was perfect and the house included both gated parking in the driveway for our rental car, as well as street parking -- our choice. The upstairs kitchen and lounge area was stocked with breakfast foods, tea and coffee, and treats cakes by Joanne. The 3rd floor of Joanne's beautiful house was the perfect home-away-from-home for us to rest and relax in between long work days. The beds were very comfortable and cozy -- there were heated blankets! It was hard to get up each day. Having the balcony for fresh air and city views was lovely. We could easily walk to great restaurants and bars just around the corner from the house, but the house is just far enough away that it's nice and peaceful at night, and the grounds are very secure. Also, there is a convenient bus stop 2 blocks away. We loved having the communal lounge room and kitchen on the 3rd floor to use during our stay. All the rooms were extremely clean and well kept, including the large shared bathroom. We have zero complaints and would recommend the Money Street House to anyone and everyone visiting Perth. Joanne, her husband, and their entire family were very friendly and welcoming. Joanne gave us tips on seeing the sights in and around Perth, and she even gave us stamps when we wanted to mail postcards back to the States. There are also tons of books and brochures around the 3rd floor to help you plan your visit and get around town. Thanks for everything, Joanne; hopefully we'll be back soon!
Joanne and her family always make you feel very welcome in their beautiful home. I was after a quite time of rest and late morning sleep-ins and the privacy, tranquility and the classic luxury of the Balcony room was perfect. Joanne is an amazing host with a wonderful eye for detail making staying at Money Street a real treat! This was my second stay and definitely look forward to staying again. Thank you Joanne, you are a treasure!
We were delightful to stay with Joanne. Feels like home - where ever we go, we need this piece of feeling. Specious room with every details we need, we love the pantry and lounge with the billiard pool, television, games, ... beautiful garden - we love garden. For sure we will come back again. What we like also about the house is its location. It is near to the commercial area. Easy to find transportation, food and groceries, shopping center...

I am married with 3 children and 1 grandchild. Two of my children have left home now but we enjoy getting together for meals. Rory, our son, is still at uni and lives in the cottage to the rear of the house. My first grandchild is two and we hope to spend time with him enjoying his early years and beyond. My husband is a professional who works from a home office and I run the office for him. I am also a volunteer Art Gallery guide at the State Art Gallery.I am a trained primary school teacher and an ESL teacher. I like to cook interesting food, especially Indian/Persian/Mediterranean, when I have the time. I love books, art, reading, walking, riding my bike, travelling and meeting people from around the world.
We rise early, so tend to be in bed by 11pm (12pm on Friday and Saturday) and would prefer if guests feel the same about evening retiring times. There is flexibility regarding flight times of course. You are welcome to sleep in!
We started hosting in September 2012 and are enjoying it very much. We have met some very interesting and friendly guests.
