This double room is located in a large home situated 10 minutes walk from Cork City Centre in the quiet area of Sundays Well (see (website hidden) maps).
This is a Gay and Hetro friendly home and is owned by two mature men who are doing this primarily as we also love travelling and like meeting new people.
The room comes with its own separate private bathroom.
If you are planning to travel to this city to party all night and sleep all day, this place is definitely not for you.
There are many tourist attractions close by such as the City museum in Fitzgearlds park and the old City Jail, Breakfast is included in the price.
The owners have a smallish well behaved dog who will not annoy you.
We are 10 minutes away from the Airport train and Bus stations and will arrange to pick you up there for free subject to prior arrangement.
Free WI-FI is also available for i phone and lap-top users
We have noticed that many of our clients leave cork to return to Dublin just to catch a flight to elsewhere in Europe .There is a very good international airport here in cork with lots of European connections The Airport code is ORK and the main carriers are Aer-lingus and Ryanair.
For those people coming to visit or do business with the university( UCC ) we are a very scenic 10 minute walk away .
As this is not a hotel the only people who can enter the property are the people who are originally booked to stay So if you do fall in love while visiting the city It is best if you go back to there place to become better acquainted ! !
Please do not Smoke in the Bedroom as apart from been a fire hazard the smell lingers for ages afterwards .
It is important to give us an idea at least one day before you arrive as to what time to expect you at . Failure to do so means you might have to hang around for a while waiting for us to appear from shopping etc .
Finally and most importantly .
As this is a private home we do not have facilities for guests to do there own cooking and neither do we have facilities to do Laundry
Experience exceptionnelle. les hotes ainsi que la maison sont geniales. Facile d acces et le centre pas loin a pied. Un accueil extremement chaleureux "avec un verre de vin". Super adresse.
I have stayed in many airbnb places and this is the best. It is a beautiful mid-19th century house, within easy walk of the town centre (you'll pass the excellent Franciscan well pub which is worth stoping into on your way). Your room is beautifully furnished, and you can relax in the airy sitting too or the garden. But jerry and jer make it special. The breakfast is delicious. Great conversation is there if you want it but they respect your privacy if you just want to while away your own time. Altogether I couldn't recommend the experience higher. Thank!
Our stay in Cork with Jerry and Ger was terrific. They made us feel very welcome in their lovely home and gave us great suggestions for places to visit in West Cork.
Their dog, Nelson was a real character.
Breakfasts were delicious and generous. We will be back.
Wayne and Irene.
Fantastic welcome from our hosts. The cheese and wine was so welcome after our drive from Larne. Accommodation as described, and we felt very welcome and comfortable. Breakfast superb, could not have improved it. We felt as if we had a magic angel on our shoulder the whole visit (3days), in the form of Jerry, advising us where to go and what to do. You cannot pay for that kind of help!!
Beer at Franciscan Wells a must, as is a visit to Clonakilty. Go visit the supermarket there, honest even my husband was impressed.
Give us a shout if you come to Scotland guys, will try to impress too. Xx
Superb. They are excellent hosts, warm and friendly and really keen to ensure you feel at home in their lovely house. They also have a cool dog who is very keen to play with any stray socks. We had a lovely breakfast on both days, with the morning papers, served in their bright front room. My girlfriend says the scrambled eggs were the best she's ever tasted. We consider ourselves lucky to have found this big charming place with its lovely big-hearted hosts. Anyone who gets to repeat the experience has struck gold.
It was awesome. A true Irish experience. Both Jerry and Ger were incredibly personable and helpful. Best experience on our trip.
Jerry was wonderful! Not only is he a riot but very accommodating. He gave great recommendations about what to see around Cork and went out of his way to look up directions and hours for us. Breakfast was great and his dog Nelson was also very sweet :).
This was written by Ashley who could not come in Feb due to flight been cancelled .. She stayed this weekend of the 21/06/
Yesterday wasn't just great, it was splendid! We followed your suggestions and went to Clonakilty, Inchydoney beach, then through Timoleague (walked round the abbey) and on to Kinsale. Skipped Courtmacsherry because of time. The sun emerged gloriously just as we were nearing Inchydoney, and my far-fetched dream of having an hour on a warm Irish beach came true. The drive was gorgeous all the way through. We ended up at the Bulman pub for a farewell drink before heading back to the airport and finding that I stupidly lost my biometric permit.
Anyway, we're both so grateful to you, Ger, and Nelson for your incredible hospitality and warmth, terrific breakfasts, lovely conversation, and the wine and cheese welcome. Your suggestions were all perfect for us, and we had a much needed wonderful weekend. Nelson is adorable and hilarious, and your beautiful home is filled with good vibes.
Thank you most especially for allowing us to make up the missed weekend. We're so glad now that we didn't make it in February when the weather would surely have made for a different experience.
I really wish I could leave another review, but I contacted Airbnb and they responded with a canned message about only having 30 days after the original reservation. So... next time!
All the best,

Easy going, positive, life loving guys with a curiosity about new things. We like the concept of airbnb and think it would be interesting to host people from around the world
