The Space

This double room is located in a large home situated 10 minutes walk from Cork City Centre in the quiet area of Sundays Well (see (website hidden) maps).
This is a Gay and Hetro friendly home and is owned by two mature men who are doing this primarily as we also love travelling and like meeting new people.
The room comes with its own separate private bathroom.
If you are planning to travel to this city to party all night and sleep all day, this place is definitely not for you.
There are many tourist attractions close by such as the City museum in Fitzgearlds park and the old City Jail, Breakfast is included in the price.
The owners have a smallish well behaved dog who will not annoy you.
We are 10 minutes away from the Airport train and Bus stations and will arrange to pick you up there for free subject to prior arrangement.

Free WI-FI is also available for i phone and lap-top users
We have noticed that many of our clients leave cork to return to Dublin just to catch a flight to elsewhere in Europe .There is a very good international airport here in cork with lots of European connections The Airport code is ORK and the main carriers are Aer-lingus and Ryanair.

For those people coming to visit or do business with the university( UCC ) we are a very scenic 10 minute walk away .

  • Superb. They are excellent hosts, warm and friendly and really keen to ensure you feel at home in their lovely house. They also have a cool dog who is very keen to play with any stray socks. We had a lovely breakfast on both days, with the morning papers, served in their bright front room. My girlfriend says the scrambled eggs were the best she's ever tasted. We consider ourselves lucky to have found this big charming place with its lovely big-hearted hosts. Anyone who gets to repeat the experience has struck gold.

  • It was awesome. A true Irish experience. Both Jerry and Ger were incredibly personable and helpful. Best experience on our trip.

  • Jerry was wonderful! Not only is he a riot but very accommodating. He gave great recommendations about what to see around Cork and went out of his way to look up directions and hours for us. Breakfast was great and his dog Nelson was also very sweet :).

This was written by Ashley who could not come in Feb due to flight been cancelled .. She stayed this weekend of the 21/06/

    Dear Jerry
Yesterday wasn't just great, it was splendid! We followed your suggestions and went to Clonakilty, Inchydoney beach, then through Timoleague (walked round the abbey) and on to Kinsale. Skipped Courtmacsherry because of time. The sun emerged gloriously just as we were nearing Inchydoney, and my far-fetched dream of having an hour on a warm Irish beach came true. The drive was gorgeous all the way through. We ended up at the Bulman pub for a farewell drink before heading back to the airport and finding that I stupidly lost my biometric permit.

Anyway, we're both so grateful to you, Ger, and Nelson for your incredible hospitality and warmth, terrific breakfasts, lovely conversation, and the wine and cheese welcome. Your suggestions were all perfect for us, and we had a much needed wonderful weekend. Nelson is adorable and hilarious, and your beautiful home is filled with good vibes.

Thank you most especially for allowing us to make up the missed weekend. We're so glad now that we didn't make it in February when the weather would surely have made for a different experience.

I really wish I could leave another review, but I contacted Airbnb and they responded with a canned message about only having 30 days after the original reservation. So... next time!

    All the best,

  • Staying with Jerry and Ger was awesome! We got to see an area of Ireland that we had not yet experienced since we were venturing off from a school-led trip. Jerry showed us all of the great areas and told us what to visit and what we could skip. The house was very spacious and we had ample room to lounge around in. Both hosts were very accommodating and it was truly a personal experience that we would not have received if we had chosen a hostel or hotel, not to mention the historical beauty of the home and the central location. Thanks again! And we really miss hanging out with the ever-friendly Nelson :)

  • Great hosts! Nice dog. Thanks for picking us up at the bus and dropping us off Again! House was beautiful, old. For the light sleepers under us good to know. One tip would be putting water cooker + tea in room as kitchen was not for guests to use. Regards from Glengarif. Nathalie

    Response from Jerry:

Sorry Nathalie about not been able to cook your own meals in Kitchen but this is a B&B rather than a hostel and it would be totally impractical as well as dangerous to install a cooker in the bedroom

  • Technically, we have not yet stayed at Jerry's place, but I know it will be a wonderful experience. Our recent holiday plans were thwarted by severe weather, and Jerry so kindly offered to let us rebook at no charge even though the cancellation occurred on the day we were due to arrive. Five starts for human kindness. We are looking forward to finally making our trip to Jerry's house soon!

    Response from Jerry:

Champagne on ice . The same thing happened to me in France last year (Airline strike ) and the lovely host (Laurie) contacted me a year later asking me when we were going to come and stay ... That and this is the difference between hotels and Airbnb.. look forward to meeting you . Jerry & Ger
