Charming house in Copenhagen

House - Entire home/apt · Overbys Allé, Valby, Capital Region of Denmark 2500, Denmark

The Space

Very charming and functional 2 bedroom house (ground floor) for the family or for the romantic getaway where a small and sunny garden is appreciated. The house is situated in Valby, just 8 minutes from Copenhagen city center by train.

The house is divided in two seperate apartments and it is the ground floor apartment that is rented out. The apartment has its own private entrance and is 1399 ft2. It includes a master bedroom with a king size bed and a 2nd bedroom with a large bunk bed (queen size + normal bed) (2 extra mattresses are available if needed). Fully furnished kitchen with dishwasher and all appliances, a toilet/shower and a cosy living room. Furthermore there is a washer and dryer, tv in all rooms and free Internet (wifi). Linen and towels are provided for the guests.

The nearest train station (Langgade station) is located 2 minutes away by foot.

The house is in Valby which is a really nice part of Copenhagen with nearby parks, lots of cafés, a nice shopping mall and different shops. Copenhagen Zoo is very near by as well as the Carlsberg Museum.

There is free parking just outside the house and it is very easy to take the train to/from the airport. Otherwise a taxi costs app. 42 dollars or 33 Euro from the airport.

Interaction with Guests

I have lived in Copenhagen a great part of my life. I am really fond of the city and will love to tell you where to go, places to eat, where to run, swim etc. so please feel free to ask for any advice you may have.

Copenhagen can easily be explored by foot, but if you are comfortable with bicycles, then that is what I would recommend. I have two adult bicycles that can be used free of charge and could arrange for more bicycles if needed.

  • We had a fantastic holiday staying in Ole's delightful house. Our two-year-old was enraptured with the well-stocked boxes of toys and the bunnies in the garden! We particularly enjoyed using the very modern and fully-equipped kitchen, and cooking with fresh herbs and vegetables from the garden. There were even plastic cutlery, bowls, etc. for our toddler.

There are many shops and cafes in the local area - we spent a lot of time walking around Valby, including a day at the fantastic zoo. Our toddler enjoyed Danish playgrounds which are very different from ones here in the UK - no swings and slides, but lots of carved logs and sandpits for climbing and imaginative play! Copenhagen was only a short train ride away - it was very easy to use public transport even with our pushchair. Copenhagen deserves its reputation as the most child-friendly city in Europe! We easily filled a week with fun activities, many of which were personally recommended by Ole (the tip on which boat trip was 50% cheaper than all the others was particularly appreciated!).

All in all a fantastic holiday with a perfect host. Five stars!

  • We truly enjoyed staying in Ole's house. While a little bit out of the beaten path, it was perfect for our family. Ole's policy of "mi casa es su casa" allowed us to partake in incredibly delicious vegetables and herbs from his garden, delight in his vast collection of music and videos on a studio-level system, and save money on bike usage in the bike city!

We would recommend Ole for any family visitors to Copenhagen.

  • Beautiful house - everything provided that you need in a 'home-away-from-home'. Excellent location close to supermarket, cafes and only a couple of train stops away from the centre of Copenhagen. Added bonus of free (and safe) on-street parking. Will definitely recommend to friends.

  • We just returned from 10 days at Ole Emmick's house in Copenhagen. We could not have had better accomodations anywhere! We are a family of six, parents and four adult children. The house was as comfortable as home - spotlessly clean; beautifully decorated with family pictures, wonderful art; sliding glass doors in kitchen, livingroom, and bedroom so lots of light and outdoors; a lovely garden. Our host took care of everything - gave us closet space, extra mattress for our extra family member, spices and coffee in the kitchen - so welcoming and homey. The location is great, 2 minute walk from the train to downtown, 15-20 minute walk from artsy Vestrobro but in our own little neighborhood we had a pub, cafe, grocery store, cheese shop, butcher, fish market just minutes from the house. We walked all around historic Valby and loved it. We will definitely try and stay with Ole again. 5 stars!

  • I stayed in Ole`s home for 4 days and I was very pleased with my stay. The house is well equipped, stylish, nice, very comfortable, cosy and with fast internet. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. The house is full of light and spacious. You can also access to the nice garden to the rear of the building where there is direct access from the kitchen. Furthermore, it was very nice to have the possibility to use washing machine and dryer.
The location is also good, there is free parking in front of the house and within a two minute walk I was at the S-train station with connections every 10 minutes to the centre. In Valby itself there are great coffeeshops, restaurants, shopping centre (5 min from home). Ole was a very good host and was easy to contact. The communication was perfect, he was very helpful and he gave me a lot of advices where to go for dinner and shops.
If I have to go again to Copenhagen I would definitely ask to stay there again. Thank you very much Ole! I would definitely recommend the apartment for everyone looking for a nice, central oasis in Copenhagen.
