Villa Pavela is located on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, just north of Costa Rica and is a 10 minute drive south from San Juan del Sur, a popular resort and fishing town. The beach close by sits in a breathtaking bay flanked by dramatic cliffs dotted with cacti and rock outcrops shaped to the whim of the waves. The fine, warm beach sand extends generously before reaching the bubbling waters edge. Standing there for the first time, we were truly humbled by the magic of the sun slowly sinking into the ocean.
Through its outdoor living spaces the house fully engages its inhabitants with the surrounding tropical environment. There is a private sunken patio overlooking the cordilleras accessible from the master bedroom. The screened windows of the hallway catch the rays of the afternoon sun painting the interior with a pattern of light and shadow. The front covered terrace is a cool, shaded oasis where you can relax in a traditional nicaraguan rocking chair or hammock and enjoy the sweeping views of the Pacific ocean. The master bedroom is equipped with a king size bed and includes an en-suite bathroom. The large guest bedroom has a private shower, a queen-size bed and a 3-person bunk bed. The house design takes full advantage of natural ventilation. The bedrooms however, are equipped with ceiling fans and for those exceptionally hot windless nights there is AC in both bedrooms. A separate powder room is accessible from the hallway. The modern, fully-equipped kitchen overlooks the outdoor covered living space, which will most likely become your holiday headquarters during your stay at Villa Pavela.

Wonderful location and home. Just minutes walk to one of the best beaches in Nicaragua...easy driving distance to San Juan del Sur. Far surpassed my expectations for my 3 adult kids and I. Cleaning services provided daily and optional cooking services (highly recommend that you use Eliza for your trip...GREAT cook and so convenient.) The hosts were very easy to deal with...flexible...and helpful with tips for your stay. Cannot give a high enough rave for this venue!
Villa Pavela is absolutely gorgeous, our host Ela was super nice and accommodating via email. The property manager Eliza cooked all of our meals, and it was AMAZING. It really made the experience for my friends and I, who would have probably been living on peanut butter sandwiches without her. The villa is in a rural secluded area, with a phenomenal and secluded beach nearby - but I would take heed if you are afraid of nature. We were definitely in jungle territory. Lots of creepy bugs at night! ( For city girls, anyway :) ).
We are from Ottawa, Canada. We are both architects and we designed and built Villa Pavela as our tropical get away from the long canadian winters.
We love traveling to Central America, Europe and other destinations where people are resourceful and have a flair for the unusual.
The best travels are those that have no itinerary. Our life has no itinerary either and never stops surprising us...
