Welcome to Janet's Hideaway! This mid-century "Modern" home has all the modern amenities you want for life in 2021 with the charm of old Palm Springs in everything that surrounds you. On a quiet cul-de-sac, Janet chose this house for its breathtaking mountain views and the spacious lot that offers multiple outdoor areas with a pool/spa and fire feature with ample sun, a covered outdoor area for dining alfresco, and even a bit of green grass for kicking off the shoes. And then there is the house!

The space

This fully renovated Krisel & Palmer designed home was built by the Alexander Construction Co. as part of the Racquet Club Estates development completed in the late 1950s. The homes were built as vacation homes for Hollywood celebrities that frequented the Palm Springs Racquet Club, which is now long gone. The homes remain however and have been lovingly restored by enthusiasts and Janet's hideaway is a perfect example of this enthusiasm.

The home offers 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms with a large open concept kitchen/dining/living area with abundant glass walls looking out to the sunny outdoor areas. Palm Springs life is all about taking advantage of the great weather we are fortunate to have most of the year, and this house does just that. With clerestory windows and multiple glass sliding doors that open to patio areas off the living area as well as all of the bedrooms.

The master bedroom has an ensuite bath and king bed with incredible views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Step out the slider right onto the pool deck and into the spa!

2 additional bedrooms feature queen beds and share a bathroom located off the hall. Both have sliding glass doors onto the pool deck and spa area.

In the open concept living room/dining/kitchen, you will find a comfortable living room with a gas fireplace, dining table, and counter space with seating. The kitchen is all new with modern appliances and everything you will need to cook meals while on your vacation. The glass sliders open out to the patio area with an outdoor dining table and BBQ grill.

You will also find a laundry room with a washer and dryer for your use.

Outside you will find a grassy area off the outside patio perfect for croquet, picnicking, or just laying in to watch the stars! Around the back of the home, you will find the pool and spa as well as the fire-pit. There are multiple sun loungers available with umbrellas as well. You'll also find plenty of comfortable seating poolside and around the pool area.

Pool heating is optional and suggested for the months of November - Late May/early June if you wish to lounge/spend time in the pool. The pool can be heated to 86 degrees for a fee of $50 per day or $250 per week.

Please note a one-time cleaning fee is additional. Pets are allowed on approval and with a one-time pet fee. 11.5% city taxes are included in the nightly rate. (12.5% after July 1, 2021)

The following are City of Palm Springs/County Health Department Requirements for renting during the COVID crisis: (these orders change frequently as the intensity of the virus changes and our needs to mitigate it change as directed)

•All guests are required to wear masks when in public per state order posted in the home.
•Social Distancing must be maintained at all times when in public.

Host Palm Springs has adopted the CDC Facility Cleaning Protocol for this and all of our properties. This house is cleaned to this standard between each rental.

Cancellations in the time of Covid are a concern for all. With the ever-changing landscape and uncertainty that the virus leaves us with, we understand that you may need more assurances that you are booking a property that you will actually have the opportunity to use. In an attempt to relieve some of this uncertainty, we are extending a special circumstances exemption to our stated cancellation policy posted below.

In the event of an official government mandate that leaves our rental shut down, or in the event of an official government travel mandate that keeps you from getting to the property, we will allow cancellation of your reservation with a full 100% refund.

Outside of these very specific exemptions, our stated cancellation policy will remain. Please be advised that there is always risk involved with travel and you are advised to purchase travel insurance to mitigate your risk.

Other things to note
**By City of Palm Springs Ordinance, the following are required to rent a short term rental in the city:

1. Renter (responsible party) must be at least 25 years of age.
2. Responsible party must present government-issued I.D. prior check-in and I.D. must be copied (photographed and sent by email or upload to booking site). A copy of I.D. is kept by management while the guest is at the property and will be shared with Vacation Rental Compliance Officials on-demand as required by law.
3. Responsible party (renter) is required to sign a short-term rental agreement (contract) prior to check-in.
4. All adult guests are required to print and sign their names to the document “City of Palm Springs VR Statement of Rules and Regulations” which confirms that the Good Neighbor Brochure has been read and understood by all adult occupants.
5. No more than 2 adults per bedroom are allowed to occupy the home overnight with 2 additional guests allowed during daytime hours.
6. No more than 1 car per bedroom is allowed to be parked at the house overnight with 1 additional car allowed during daytime hours.
7. No parties or events can be held at the house (defined as a gathering that brings more than the allowable occupancy level to the house)
8. Trash must be kept in the provided receptacle out of public view.
9. Dogs (where allowed by the owner) are to be kept on a leash at all times when not in the home or in the confined space of the property. Dogs are to be kept from barking. A consistently barking dog is considered a nuisance.
10. Outdoor music is prohibited 24 hours per day. It is further expected that noise created at the home will not be audible beyond the property line.

**These rules are set forth by City Ordinance and apply to ALL short-term rentals in the City of Palm Springs. They are intended to help create peaceful neighborhoods in which rentals exist.
