I loved our stay at Jason's apartment. He was there to let us in and show us around. The apartment is really close to the subway which was a big deal because we had small children with us and didn't want to walk too far to the train. And the train into manhattan was super fast.
As for the apartment is was clean and comfortable and actually bigger than it looks in the photos. I would definitely stay here again.
Please excuse any typing mistakes or brevity as this was sent from my smartphone. Thanks.
Jason and his wife Jasmine made the stay very easy for my friends and I. While their check-in time listed for 4pm, they were able to accommodate us in the early AM given we arrived at 5am. The place was very big and spacious. Transportation is nearby and made everything very easy. Definitely a place to stay when visiting NYC.
El apartamento es ideal , esta muy bien situado en un barrio tranquilo, muy cerca de supermercados y metro , el apartamento muy tranquilo !!
I had made reservations to stay at Jason's apartment in Brooklyn during the weekend of my birthday. Once getting a pre-approval from Jason & paying the cost for the stay, it seemed as though he totally stopped responding to me after that. I then became uneasy, not knowing whether or not he would be a reliable host. Days passed and he finally messaged me back stating, "he was out of town with limited Internet access." That's fine, I understood. As I messaged him with questions, he felt it was better to discuss more about the apartment closer to the date. As the date neared, I asked my questions. No response from Jason. I flew in to NY Wednesday, staying with a friend for the time being until my reservation date of Thursday-Sunday. I messaged Jason to let him know I was in town already, a whole day before my check-in. Still no response. I waited until Thursday, the actual check-in date to hear back from him and NOTHING still. I called/texted Jason with the number provided early Thursday morning, hoping he'd respond. Yea, that was hopeful wishing. I contacted AirBnB and spoke with a rep. They were able to see the conversation thread (really it was myself holding a conversation) and reassured me they will contact Jason. About 30 minutes passed and I FINALLY got a text from Jason. It was his wife. She messaged me stating I was able to pick up the keys at noon from their "helper" Andrea at the apartment. I did meet Andrea at the apartment & she gave me a tour of the apartment. This is my first impression of the apartment: The location is not bad, but not the best. It is decent location. Walking into the building is dingy, dark, and eerie feeling. Wasn't what I expected. Walked into the apartment and it is o.k. but not as how it is portrayed through the pictures. The pull-out couch was different, the rooms lacked some of the furnishings that were shown in pictures & there was an odd smell to the apartment. Andrea handed me the same number of towels to the number of people staying. It would have been nice to use a clean, dry towel every time I showered. But I will deal with it. I tried to be positive and see the benefits of the apartment. That lasted about 20 minutes after Andrea left, I walked around the apartment and noticed the floor was dirty. One of the seat covers had stains on it. The TV was defected because there was a thick solid line going through it. And the WORSE part of it all was, a COCKROACH crawled out one of the heating vents. That was it. I texted Jason & OF COURSE no response. I contacted AirBnB. They contacted him & I get a text message back from Jason stating it was the first time they were hearing about cockroaches at the apartment. The floor, television & other...
Wow! I think my other reviews speak very clearly and show that this
particular review is inaccurate. I’ll ignore the drama and stick to the
I’ll admit my communication unfortunately wasn’t the best in this
particular scenario. I was out of town and there was an emergency at home,
so it was just an unfortunate time. I’ll hold my hands up and apologize
unreservedly. Though, as you can see from my other reviews, this is
definitely an exception and not the norm.
Regarding any other issues about “eerie feelings” or “odd smells” I can
only say that cleanliness is something we take very seriously and I’ve
never heard such complaints before.
We did have a brief problem with water bugs due to a leak in the building
but have since eradicated the problem. As a precaution, I also have a
professional exterminator come to check the apartments every month.
The TV did indeed have a malfunction and has now been replaced with a brand
Regarding Jessica not a having a brand new towel every time she took a
shower, I would respectfully suggest that there is a difference between
Airbnb apartments and hotels. That being said, we do provide clean, fresh
towels and bed-sheets and extra for guests staying for more than a few
We thought the apartment was great! Jason was awesome accommodating us for a late check-in. Everything was there in the apartment as stated/listed. He kept up communication with us. The apartment was in a nice residential location with easy access to local grocers, tiendas, bodegas, subway, buses, delivery dining options and also not more than 15min drive to anywhere in Brooklyn. We definitely plan to rent with him again!!!
we had a great stay at this apartment in Brooklyn. we felt very safe and all our needs were catered to . we were met with a smile which to me was very important.
thanks again !
Jason, his team, and this apartment are amazing! Our first day, Jason greeted us and gave us our keys, and then walked us down to the corner to show us everything we needed to know nearby. He also emailed me about fun events happening later that night. The apartment itself was very clean and very spacious (for NYC). It had great proximity to the J train, and the bus stop was literally down the stairs. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or a better host!
The apartment is a little bit different from the pictures. The internal space is awesome, but they need to clean and fumigate the cockroaches. The neighborhood is ok and it's very close to the subway. There is no noise coming from the streets, that's important to say. The upstairs with baggage and our stuff is a hard task to do. I would like to back someday, my vacations were really special.
Nice appartment, very close to the subway, it was perfect to visit NYC during one week !!!
