About this listing
Cute and stylish apartment on Jeanne mance and st viateur in trendy mile end of Montreal. I live alone in my appartment as it is A unique mix between a 1 bedroom and a loft without that industrial loft feel. The kitchen is big enough for a 6 person kitchen table. I have a queen size bed with a pull out sofa bed. I have lots of cooking and baking supplies as well as 1 coffee machine and 2 espresso machines and a mirowave. Also coffee comes included! I get Tons of morning sun with a balcony overlooking a picturesque church on st viateur. Directicly next the the famous st viateur bagel, olimpico coffee and the trendy restaurants and bars of the mile end as well as a 15 min walk from the huge mount royal park. I also have internet access I am flexible with my pricing depending on how little or long you stay.
No smoking, no cats and dogs
I booked this apartment for my mom and sister when they were in montreal for a few days recently. Miriah responded to our communications promptly and was able to accommodate my family members at the last minute. They were really happy to have a comfortable and very well-located place to sleep! That said, my mom did mention feeling a bit disappointed that the apartment was somewhat cluttered -- she mentioned there were dirty clothes in the bathroom and some recycling on the porch. Anyway, I can't say for certain since I didn't see for myself but I did note this. All in all a good experience, though -- thank you, Miriah!
We had a great time at Miriah's. The place was perfect for us and was in a great location. She responded quickly to my messages and made it very easy for us to check-in and check-out. I would definitely recommend this place and we would stay there again if we are ever back in Montreal.
The only negative is that the place is advertised as having wi-fi and this is not correct. There is one chair in the house where you can access wi-fi from a nearby shop, but this drops in and out and is certainly not reliable.
I would give Miriah's place a positive ranking with one caveat. It was a great place to stay: the bed was comfortable, the kitchen works, the apartment and residents were really quiet. The neighborhood was just fantastic as well with access to everything. I was amazed to see kids bikes left in front of their homes unlocked (something that could never happen where we come from). Everything was positive, except...
I would not suggest using this place if Montreal gets above about 82 degrees. Since this flat is on the top floor of a three story building, and there is no air conditioning, it gets HOT. We are from Arizona so we know hot, but the humidity plus the heat was a bit too much. Every step up to the third floor got hotter and opening the door was like walking into an oven. Fans did not help.
Of course, this is not the fault of the host, and I would heartily recommend this place if the temperature was better. We stayed in Montreal a few extra days than planned and got another Airbnb place with air conditioning and then the temperature dropped ten degrees!
So with that one caution about the heat, I would give this a thumbs up. But it was as it was advertised, so unless Miriah has special influence with Mother Nature, it was all good. The only thing that might not have been accurate is Miriah's photo -- it doesn't do her justice. Thanks!
Miriah's apartment appears very cozy and is located in a nice neighbourhood. Trips to downtown were time intensive. The nightly rate is decidedly excessive, and the supplementary fees amounted to extortion. The promised wifi was not available and the flat was not clean either; the sheets especially. Overall, we did enjoy our stay but feel as though we've been fleeced.
Had a good stay at Miriahs place. The place is roomy and was neat when we arrived. Miriah was really helpful given our last minute decision to go to Montreal, and especially since we were arriving late at night. The location is what makes the place worthwhile. Cool neighbourhood, famous bagels and lots of young people. Great coffee at Miriade downstairs and Bixi bikes right out front.
It feels like a locals lifestyle living at Miriah's which we loved. We would stay again.
Best possible location to explore Montreal!!!
Recommend this apartment for anyone looking to conveniently explore the city. Quiet neighborhood, but close to hip bars and music venues.
Liked the apartment, good experience overall.
My friends and I had a fantastic time staying at Miriah's apartment during the Aug. 2nd-Aug. 5th long weekend. The space easily accommodated the three of us, and we really enjoyed the gorgeous view from the balcony each morning and afternoon. Ample brunch places, bagel shops, and boutique shops were all steps away from the building. We definitely made use of Miriah's espresso machine with the coffee she'd left for us to jolt us awake after late nights out! She was a warm and friendly host, well recommended!
