The Space

A sweet, three-story townhouse in the heart of brownstone Brooklyn, our comfortable home is the perfect oasis while you explore New York City.

Ideal for a family, the house has been recently renovated and features a large fully stocked kitchen, a full dining room, three bedrooms, a TV/guest room, a landscaped backyard, and two and a half baths. The entire space has been lovingly decorated with a mix of modern and antique furnishings.

The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the two children's bedrooms each have a single-size sleeping loft. A den/guest room includes a day bed that converts into two single beds. Wi-Fi and Apple TV available as well.

Our neighborhood is conveniently located within a few blocks of several train stations, giving you easy access to all of New York City via the A/C/B/D/F/G/Q/N/R/4/5/2/3 lines.

If you'd like to stay close to home and explore the best of Brooklyn, you are a few blocks from Smith and Court Streets and Atlantic Avenue, all of which feature TONS of restaurants, bars and independent shops.

Finally, several playgrounds are within walking distance of the house, including Pier 6--a fantastic and deluxe new park located right on the East River.

Please contact us with any questions about our home or the neighborhood.

We look forward to hearing from you!

  • We had an amazing time staying at Jessica and Nate's house for roughly a month. The home is well situated in Brooklyn with easy access to many subway lines. Our children, 2 and 5, loved having all of the toys they could play with. The size of the home is huge by NYC standards. It was also nice having a backyard with a bbq to relax at in the evening. Jessica was very accomodating and quick to respond to any of our questions. We have moved on to another rental and it's just not the same feel as their family home. If we stay in NYC again we will definitely see if their home is available.

  • Our family of five adults spent a very comfortable Christmas break at Jessica and Nate's lovely quaint home. The location was excellent for us and within walking distance of our relatives apartment and many of the stores, restaurants and parks in Brooklyn we are familiar with. We did not meet our hosts but our questions re: street parking and other inquiries were answered promptly by Jessica by email. The home is very child centred and my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter enjoyed visiting us in our home away from home. We discovered that the two cats like to 'hang out' under the bed in the master bedroom which was a bit disconcerting the first night when they wanted out of the room in the middle of the night but we got used to them. The plumbing in the bathroom on the second floor needs some work (minor leaks) but I'm sure that will be attended to prior to the next guest arriving. Also the hot water radiator heating system makes unique noises that also require some getting used to if you are not accustomed to these sounds. However being able provide comfortable, clean accommodation for such a large family group during the busy holiday season, complete with Christmas tree, for out weighs these minor concerns. We enjoyed our stay.

  • A lovely, comfortable townhouse beautifully furnished and maintained, with warm and welcoming owners as hosts. Conveniently located in Brooklyn to stores and restaurants on Smith Street and Atlantic Avenue. When we arrived, Nate and Jessica were still getting ready for their trip, but took time not just to invite us in but even to serve us lunch! And, as a fringe benefit, we discovered that we all had a good deal in common.

  • The house was all that was promised. Lovely. It was perfect for all 6 of us. We adored the cats. Subways indeed at a short distance, great

  • We spent 4 nights in NYC, staying in Brooklyn to be closer to old friends. Jessica's home was exactly the right amount of space for us, travelling with two adults, two school-aged children and a college student. If we'd been there longer, we would have been cooking most of our meals at the house. There are two sweet kitties, a piano, laundry facilities upstairs, and books and games which the hosts don't mind sharing. The hosts were very responsive via email and answered questions multiple times during our stay. Jessica left directions to key places and a map which was very useful. It's a small trek (10 minutes?) to the subway stations to get to Manhattan, but our 7- and 10- year old boys weren't fazed by the walk. Younger kids might be. The kitties were active at night, and there are a couple litter boxes to keep clean, so this might not be the right place for someone who doesn't appreciate living with cats. Our cat-crazy 10-year old was thrilled to cuddle on the couch with them, so it was a bonus for us. There are lots of terrific restaurants and shops in the area and playgrounds galore. It was a terrific place to stay.

About
I live with my husband and our two daughters--ages 11 and 9--in Brooklyn, which has been our home for more than 15 years. I own my own boutique PR agency, specializing in design and lifestyle brands, and my husband is a professional musician and runs a local music school, the Brooklyn Music Factory. Our daughters just like to hang out a lot and do kid things. We love to travel during school holidays and the summer and hope you'll love our home as much as we do!
