Peter made sure we had lots of info about the house and we were met on arrival. The house is perfectly located for the V&A waterfront and has a supermarket and restaurants nearby. Very handy. There is good security on the street and the house itself is alarmed. Only disappointment was the weather and it is pretty windy on the terrace but nothing to be done about that!! That's the price in Cape Town for being up high. Superb views from the kitchen and terrace - we actually saw a whale spouting and breach one morning whilst drinking coffee in the kitchen! It was quite chilly in capetown and it's generally breezy. We only had light breakfasts at the house and ate out the rest of the time. We didn't spend a lot of time at the house as we were out and about a lot but it had everything we needed. The only issue some may have is the open staircase to the lower floor where the guest rooms are. I would recommend the house for a summer trip for both convenience and for a beautiful location. Easy striking distance of everything from camps bay to the botanical gardens to table mountain.

This place has the best view of cape town, hands down. But the matresses and pillows were old and very saggy, the sheets werent fresh and the lounge area to which you have access has very limited cooking / eating utensils (no coffee, no plates, no bin...). The host was very friendly though and allowed us use of his private kitchen. Taking all into account, we think the place is overpriced.

Response from Peter:
Not one to wish to argue with my guests, I still feel a need to comment on this review to protect my establishment's reputation. As all hosts can testify to, one occasionally encounters a guest that is impossible to please, no matter how hard you try. No positive words about the modern bathrooms, pool etc. That the sheets "weren't fresh" borders on insulting. They are brand new (as are the pillows) in Egyptian cotton from the upmarket White House chain. Needless to say, all linen are properly washed before each guest's arrival. The reviewer's father actually commented on how well he slept and what a nice bed he had - maybe the reviewee should have consulted the other members of her party before leaving a scathing review? No one has complained about the matresses before. They are fine but not new, but to ensure that I keep my my establishment top notch I have ordered two brand new mattresses. The entertainment room ("the lounge") was never meant to function as a kitchen, which can be clearly seen from the listing for those who bother to read it. There is a kettle, coffee, tea, cups, a bar fridge with complimentary drinks etc in that room. I apologize that my guests had to fetch plates all the way from the kitchen. I have now put plates in that entertainment room. I went out of my way to make my guests' stay a pleasant one, like I do for all guests, to the point of even ensuring that they retrieved the clothes that they had left upon departure, without even a "thank you". Very disappointing.

House is located in Green Point, which is safe location. House is equipped with both inside and outside alarm system and also the street is watched during the night by security. Very good internet connection. House is very nicely designed and equipped. Fantastic view!!!! Even though the second floor does not have its own kitchen, Peter let us use his kitchen which I consider the best part of the house and enjoyed every day breakfasts there! To be honest in Cape Town the food is great and not expensive so I recommend not to cook and go out and try local restaurants! When we arrived to Cape Town, we caught a flu. Peter not only called for us his doctor but also helped us with administration staff and brought us some medicine. So thank you for that Peter and for your great tips! I hope we will see you in Sweden or in Cape Town again!

Peter and his girlfriend Anna were great hosts, very welcoming and really nice people. My wife and I actually went out for dinner with them them on our first night in Cape town. The house is really stunning and with fantastic views - awesome for lounging about on and sun bathing! The room has an on suite, really comfortable bed, loads of storage and everything is literally brand new! It really is a great place to stay and is in a really nice and safe neighbourhood. I would really recommend staying here whilst in Cape town, we will be back!!
