About This Listing
Our large duplex is perfect for families visiting NYC. We're well stocked with toys, a few blocks from Prospect Park, and a quick subway ride into Manhattan. Quiet and peaceful but so easy to take in all NYC has to offer.
GORGEOUS fully renovated three bedroom upper duplex in one of Brooklyn's best neighborhoods. This house-like apartment is almost 2000 sqft, with plenty of room to spread out. Located on the top two floors of a recently gut renovated 1890's frame house in trendy south slope, the apartment offers a king bed in the master bedroom, a twin over full bunk bed and a twin-sized loft bed in the two other bedrooms. Separate TV room and office, bathrooms on each floor, laundry room, kitchen with breakfast bar, microwave and dishwasher. The TV room has a futon that can be folded down into a full-sized bed.
Cable, Blue Ray streaming videos and WiFi included.
The house is located four blocks from the F train and five blocks from the R train. South slope is filled with great restaurants and shops, and Prospect Park is only five blocks away. This is a perfect location for anyone who wants to enjoy all that Brooklyn has to offer yet still wants space and quiet.
We love our home and we know you will too.
Guests have access to the entire apartment.
Interaction with Guests
We won't be around unless you need something! Typically we go out of town when we rent out our place, but we always have a designated caretaker who can help with any needs that arise for our guests.
We love our neighborhood and we're sure you will too. We're just a few blocks from Prospect Park, which has a zoo, an ice skating rink, botanical gardens, ball fields, hiking and horseback riding trails, and tons of great picnic spots. The tree-lined streets are gorgeous, and sometimes it's hard to believe you're so close to Manhattan. But we've also got tons of amazing restaurants, farmers markets and happening bars. AND we're just 20 minutes on the train to Manhattan.
The closest subway stop is the F and G stop at 15th Street. We're also close to the N and R at Prospect Avenue. And there are a bunch of busses that can help get you around Brooklyn. We also now have new Brooklyn-based green taxis that will take you wherever you want to go.
Other Things to Note
There is an entryway/mudroom area when you first come into the house. If you don't mind taking your shoes off when you come in we'd appreciate it! There is shoe storage by the front door.
The rest of the apartment is one flight up, so not appropriate for those who have trouble navigating stairs.
The apartment is extremely child-friendly (since we've got two) and you're welcome to play with all the toys.
We do tons of cooking and baking, so the kitchen is fully equipped with a stand mixer, Cuisinart, blender, lots of pots and pans .... basically whatever cooking implement you need.
No smoking in the house. Because we have a cat who lives with us (but who will not be present during your stay) we unfortunately can't allow other pets in the house.
We are have been very happy with the appartment, large rooms and the kitchen as in France.
Neighborhood very quiet, subway F and R very close, middle Manhattan in 40 minutes.
Nice experience if we come back we will stay at the same place.
We had a great time staying at Hana's spacious house. Everything was exactly as she described. Hana was very responsive about modifying our departure time and leaving detailed instructions for the internet, TV, etc. This is our favorite Brooklyn airbnb by far, and we hope to stay here again.
Hana's house was beautiful, spacious, clean, and in a great location. We would stay there again if we are ever in New York again! Hana was also responsive and communicated well and timely with us when we asked questions.
About the Host, Hana
I run a user experience consulting company (which is a fancy way of saying I work on building large corporate websites) and my husband is an instructional designer (which is a fancy way of saying he develops online courses). We have two children, ages 5 and 8, and a beta fish named Matthew. We also have a cat (who will not be in the apartment when guests are staying) so our place isn't appropriate for people with cat allergies.
Since we both work from home we do tons of traveling, especially in the summer. We know what it's like to be in a new place, so we've put together a guide that we leave for all our guests.
We just listed the place on Airbnb, but we've been renting it out through other sites for years, so we're used to having guests in our home.
