Check In
  • I stayed here with my son and it was cosy and ideal for the two of us. Laura and Rory are great hosts - friendly and helpful. The suite is clean and really well-equipped, so ideal if you don't want to eat out too much. It's in a nice neighbourhood with good parking. Easy to walk to the train station and close to town and lots of other amenities. Trampoline in the back yard was a big bonus for my son. I'm a particularly light sleeper, so my tip would be ear-plugs are a good idea, as you are in a basement suite (though they were not overly loud and felt very respectful of us being downstairs - but as in any basement, you can hear footsteps etc.) I think Laura and Rory's place is a great option for a stay in Vancouver and we for sure would stay there again when in town.

  • I enjoyed three nights in Vancouver recently in this Studio Suite. Lots of room, comfortable surroundings. Close to lots of shops and public transportation. The host left some cinnamon rolls and juice for me to enjoy with my family. The suite is very clean. I hope to stay here on my next trip to Vancouver.

  • Laura is a very sweet lady and greeted us with cookies when we first arrived. The whole time when we were in Vancouver it was raining so it was helpful that we have a kitchen to cook in. The kitchen is equiped with all the utensils we needed- we even brought some crabs for dinner on our last day there. In addition, we asked her to borrow some umbrellas for the day and she provided us with that. We spent a day taking the skytrain and the bus and it was very convenient- about 10 minutes walk away from the house. Next time I go to Vancouver, I definitely stay at her place again. Thank you Laura and Roy!

  • What a lovely find! We were greeted by the friendliest dog and taken to our apartment by her. The studio was great! Enough room for two adults and two big kids. The kitchen is so spacious that we moved a chair in there so we had a little separation for when we stayed in. (The ceilings are a little low. My 6foot husband was just comfortable enough. Any taller and he wouldn't have been.) The kitchen has everything a cook could need including a crock pot. Even though the studio is near a busy (ish) street all was quiet inside and in the adorable yard. Our host, Laura, was most helpful on all fronts. Her communication was excellent and she helped us out by putting my son's one pair of wet shoes in her dryer. Oh! And we had a sweet breakfast waiting for us the first morning! Perfect! Walking only a few blocks to the train station was ideal, as was having a parking space at the house.

  • We enjoyed a 3 day stopover in Vancouver in August and stayed in the studio apartment. The location is close to public transport and walkable to restaurants and shops. The apartment is clean comfortable and beautifully decorated. Laura and Rory are the perfect hosts - very friendly and welcoming.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the private studio suite and the beautiful city of Vancouver! Unfortunately we weren't able to meet our hosts Laura and Rory, but Joan (Laura's mom-in-law) was a perfect 'substitute' host and even greeted us in Afrikaans when she heard we were from South Africa! The suite was perfect in size with modern furniture and appliances, very comfortable beds and an awesome location - easy for traveling to downtown! We loved Laura's personal and thoughtful touch to leave us milk, juice and cookies in the suite upon our arrival. It made us feel at home! We would definitely stay here again with our next visit to Vancouver!

  • We stayed in the studio apartment for 5 days at the beginning of August. Our stay was excellent!! Very quiet, clean and comfortable. This suite is great if you are traveling with a family because of the fully equipped kitchen, the private entrance, and the access to the back yard. One of the best things about this suite is how close the Canada Line is (about a 5 minute walk). Laura was very helpful and welcoming too. We would definitely stay here again!

We have been living in the Cambie area of Vancouver for the past 20 years and have owned this residence since 1996. We have watched this area blossom into a vibrant exciting neighborhood with exceptional transit convenience to the city center and surrounding areas of interest. We often take advantage of the many eateries close by on Main st. and love to share a glass of fine red wine. We enjoy walks at Queen Elizabeth & Stanley Park as well as strolls or bike rides along the waterfront at Granville Island and False Creek. We have a very friendly dog that loves to fetch a ball on land or in the water. We have also been spending our vacation time in the Okanagan for the past 20 years as well and just finished building a cabin on the water in Kelowna in 2011. We have decided to rent it out on a weekly basis during the summer months and monthly for the 9 mos starting October 1 through June 30. We would love to host your stays in both Vancouver and Kelowna/Vernon if your holiday plans permit. We have met many interesting people from all over the world through this experience and look forward to hosting your stay and assisting you in maximizing the enjoyment of your time in Vancouver and/or in Kelowna.
