Dolce far niente (Busy Doing Nothing)
The quiet woodland surroundings will encourage you to do absolutely nothing! And Le 4 Stagioni has all the facilities you need to do just that. Start the morning with a cup of coffee or tea, and freshly baked bread. Walk along the garden paths to the swimming pool (perhaps identifying the wild flowers in their seasons) where your sun chair will be waiting for you. As you sit in the sun, enjoying the breathtaking view, the essential oils of the lavender and rosemary that surround the pool, will help you to relax. If the sun is too hot, you can take a refreshing dip.
Want some shade? Then take advantage of one of the hammocks you will find in the olive grove.
Hiking and Biking
The peace and quiet of the surrounding 120 hectares of protected woodlands are particularly enticing to hikers and bikers. There are marked footpaths, but Le 4 Stagione can also provide local maps. And, the unmade roads the traverse that area are a real challenge for mountain bikers! If mountain bikes aren’t your thing, then there are miles of quiet ‘lanes’ where you can practice your hill climbing technique.

These hills overlook a wide, fertile plain, dotted with farms and some modern towns. Umbria is famous for its walled hill towns, some, like Bettona, of Etruscan origin.
Bettona, itself, is a small, walled town, one of ‘I Borghi piu belli d ‘Italia’ (One of the most beautiful small towns in Italy). It gained this accolade in 2007. This hill town, far away from the package holiday route, is centrally located providing the ideal stepping off point for visits to some of the most famous cities of Italy.
If you like wine, we have a lot of great wineries nearby.

Our stay by Anneke at Bettona couldn't be any better. She made us feel very welcome from the first moment on. She is an excellent chef, knows Bettona very well and tells you very useful informations about the area, no matter where you want to go. She speaks fluent german, english, italian, dutch and probably even more languages. We had a fantastic view and a great, clean and perfect room with everything. I recommend to go by car. Thanks Anneke, for everything!
Anneke is an amazing host and her B&B is absolutely wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone planning a stay in Umbria!
About the Host, Anneke
I am from Holland and I live in Umbria since 2006. When I saw this house the first time, I immediately felt in love for it. I travelled all around the world, but for me this is the best place to live. I like to take care of people, cook for them and show them all the lovely things Umbria is known for, so that is why I started this B&B. So please feel at home in my B&B and let me help you to make your own fabulous tour through Umbria by car, bike, vespa or even on foot.
