Meonggajae is old house of Hanok reproduced with pine tree of Baekdu mountain, and it is the place that Soheon Jinsam Kim built with his own hands.
Meonggajae is located at the center of Bukchon tourist attraction, and you feel good and comfortable with courtyard surrounded with stone wall seen as you pass five steps and cross the threshold of Hanok. You may feel that sunshine very warmly comes between roofing tiles of Hanok, receiving warm energy of south. Meonggajae constructed in the shape of ㄱ with the courtyard as the center is the place you may feel the Korean culture, and will give you fragrant memory.

1. Meonggajae is famous place that many local and foreign tourists visited because it is close to Choongang High School that is filming locations of Winter Sonata of Yonsama Bae Yong Joon.

5. Bukchon sightseeing ----
1)Bukchon's 1st view: Panoramic View of Changdeokgung : A whole view of the Royal Palace, Changdeokgung beyond a stone wall is spread by walking up the hill of Bukchon-gil from Bukchon Traditional Culture Center.
2)Bukchon's 2nd View : Arts and Crafts Street in Wonseo-dong : At the end of this alley reached by walking on the stone road of Changdeokgung. The signs of the people who worked for the royal family are remained.
3)Bukchon's 3rd View : The whole area of No.11, Gahoe-dong :The whole area of No.11, Gahoe-dong to appreciate the interior of Korean-style house, Hanok. A number of workshops are located that enable you to experience the traditional culture.
4)Bukchon's 4th View : The hill, No.31, Gahoe, Gahoe-dong : This spot to appreciated the whole area of No.31, Gahoe-dong at a glance. It commands a fine view of Lee Jun-gu's houses on the top of Bukchon along with many tiled roof.
5)Bukchon's 5th View : Downhill Alley, Gahoe-dong: This place remained as the largest number of views and traces of the concentrated Korean style houses, Hanok. Thanks to Active Support Program for Hanok, they have preserved well.
6)Bukchon's 6th View : Uphill Alley, Gahoe-dong : A whole view of Seoul are spread among the roofs of Hanok. An overall view of the city of Seoul, which is visible among the edges of the eaves, is one of the best walks in Bukchon.
7)Bukchon's 7th View : No.31, Gahoe-dong : This humble alley makes you feel better with a quite, peaceful ambience, and a little relax. You can look through friendly daily lives of the residents.
8)Bukchon's 8th View : Stone Stairs Alley, Samcheong-dong : Stone Stairs Alley down from Hwagae1-gil to Samcheongdong-gil. It has a unique sculpture made by entirely one huge rock bed that attracts your attention.
The owner of the house is the master of head house that has kept the house throughout several generations.
Various traditional culture may be experienced in several traditional Hanok, and there is time that memorial services are performed in case of head house.
You may participate in the event if you check schedule that these events are performed in advance.
It is better to make a reservation in case of using traditional Hanok. Please confirm the reservation before visit, even though you have already made a phone reservation.
Bathroom, shower facilities and so on may be inconvenient for conservation of the original form of the traditional Hanok. You had better confirm and recognize this situation in advance.
Meal is often provided by the owner of the house. It is also part of experience to taste traditional food of head family, handed down for hundreds of years.
