Step into your Oakland retreat in the storybook Glenview neighborhood—where tree-lined streets and classic bungalows welcome you home. This 2-bedroom, 1-bath, air conditioned space is fully equipped for families or friends traveling together.

You’ll spread out across the entire lower level of a freshly remodeled bungalow with your own private entrance and secure off-street parking. Wake to the calm of a quiet, walkable community that is just 11 miles to downtown San Francisco.

The space
- This apartment is in the lower level r of a recently remodeled bungalow and is completely private with a separate entrance. Seven above ground windows provide good light. Because this is an old house - built in 1914 - it's not soundproof and you will hear footsteps occasionally - or the pitter patter of little paws - from the upper level. I provide earplugs and a noise machine if that level of noise bothers you.

--Glenview is adjacent to the Oakland neighborhoods of Montclair, Crocker Highlands, Piedmont, Oakmore and the Dimond District.

--This is a great space for families with infants or young children because the bedrooms are not right next to each other (see floor plan) and I have baby equipment. Also good for two couples or groups of friends traveling together.

—The off street parking is a narrow but workable driveway, particularly if you back in providing a high level of security for your car. I also have an EV outlet for (but you must bring your own cord.) If you rent a car, try to get a smaller one with a backup camera.

- The apartment is walkable to shops, restaurants, parks and trails (see online guide.)

- Includes fully equipped and newly remodeled kitchen with a gas range

- The unit has a washer/dryer and workspace area; new memory foam mattresses and fresh linens.

--My maximum occupancy is 4 (not including infants). I have an inflatable queen and single bed mattress if needed.

- I offer off street parking in my driveway but it is narrow so better if you back in. If you don't have a car or decide not to use it - please let me know and I will park in the driveway - freeing up more space on the street for your vehicle. This has worked well when my guest have large SUV's or trucks.

Other things to note
Unlike most East Bay homes, the unit is air conditioned.

There are light darkening blinds in the sunny front bedroom.

I have added grab bars in the bathroom for those with stability issues.

I allow dogs with a mandatory pet fee to cover the costs of additional cleaning due to pet hair or other damage. I would appreciate you having their nails cut before they visit and keeping blankets on the furniture (provided) if they sit or lay on it.

Also, if you leave your pets alone during your stay, I have a crate you can use (for small to midsize dogs) that can help protect them and my property. I also think they may feel more secure in an enclosed space. It’s sad to hear them crying while you are out.

The narrow secluded streets make this a safer neighborhood than those adjacent to major roads. My neighbors and I have had no issues with car theft or break ins. I do have a security system that is turned on at night and there are heavy plastic bars on the ground level windows as a precaution.
