This ground-floor, self-contained, 57 sq m apartment is part of a large, beautifully-restored farm house. Huge garden and staggering panoramic views of the Pyrenees, but close to the medieval village of Rieux-Volvestre, on the Via Garona, and only a few minutes from the A64 motorway.

The space
Saint Laurent is the perfect place for a holiday away from Covid-19.

To date, there is no Covid-19 in the area of Rieux-Volvestre.
Our nearest neighbour is 1 km away.
We enjoy 27 hectares (66 acres) of private land.
We are at the end of a cul-de-sac so there is no passing traffic.

Hand sanitiser is available in all apartments.
Our apartments have independent access, which makes social distancing easy.
They have fast wifi, a comfortable workspace and are suitable for children.
Geoff and Penny are retired health professionals who understand the issues.

A clean, spacious, light and airy apartment, which comfortably fits 4.

Breath-taking views, a rich cultural heritage, meandering rivers and canals, winding roads and quality local produce all conspire to make Saint Laurent an unforgettable rural experience. Here you can get away from it all, but if you want some action, you do not have to travel far to find it.

Guest access
Guests have access to the extensive grounds. There are many established walks in the area.

You can enjoy, by invitation, the common areas of the house, which include a large salon and balcony. In the salon there is a Kawai grand piano.

Other things to note
It should be noted that the bathroom is off the bedroom. The other bed is a sleeper couch in the living room. Access to the bathroom is through the bedroom.

Toulouse (40 mins) and Albi, Carcassonne and Lourdes (all 90 mins) are within easy reach by car.

Our property has other rentable space (e.g. 'Escape to Volvestre' and 'Ideal Family / Party Space'), if your party is larger. We can accommodate up to 12 people.

Starting from Carbonne, Salles-sur-Garonne or Saint-Julien-sur-Garonne, there is a clearly-marked, safe cycling trail beside the Garonne river.

• Sainte-Croix-Volvestre – Wednesday
• Carbonne – Thursday

I just love people, hence my heart is open to guests to share my lovely French home. After many years in medicine, and with my African heart, you are always welcome. I have worked mainly in Rehabilitative and Orthopaedic medicine in Southern Africa, including Zambia and Swaziland. My family still reside there, so I visit frequently. My great love is Music. I devote many hours to playing the piano, and consider myself a serious amateur. You are welcome to listen to me play and to join in. I am currently revisiting some significant novels, and have just re-read Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. The next book will be a French classic. Geoff and I ran a small farm in Swaziland, with a mango orchard and beef cattle. We are now transferring those skills to manage the land here according to permaculture principles. You are welcome to join in. We have a core belief in the importance of building community; hence our support for the Collaborative Community.
