  • Truly enjoyed staying with Kay. She is a perfect host, very helpful and always approachable for any kind of questions and queries. Also a very well equipped appartment in a perfect location to explore the Big Island's west coast. Looking forward to staying again!

  • This is a great place to stay. We did a lot of hiking, swimming and exploring and it was nice to come back to a place to sleep comfortably. Kay is also a very friendly and welcoming host. The outdoor kitchen made it nice so we could eat breakfast there instead of eating out.

  • Kay is a nice host and her place is nice too. You can see cool sunsets at the lanai. We also loved to occasionally see some geckos there.

  • Kay's private studio in Kona is awesome and a great way to stay in a prime spot on the Big Island without paying an arm and a leg. Comfortable and cozy accommodations, clean, and the back patio was a nice way to spend the mornings and the evenings.

Close access to lots of attractions and also grocery stores and the town. Would definitely stay again!

  • Donna and I had a great time in Kay's home. The place is very close to snorkeling, great food, and snorkeling and we enjoyed all of it. The place was clean and the outside kitchen and lounging area was fun. All in all we recommand it and might use it again.

  • The place is nice and clean. Vivid grass, flowers and trees around make it even better. A beautiful view of the shoreline. We would like to stay there in the future.

  • Kay's place is in a good location for a road traveller. We loved the fact that it was self contained so we could cook as many meals there as we wished. The studio felt very private and we loved the living space on the lanai. Kay was very welcoming and generous in the offer of the use of her water sports equipment. We had a fantastic stay and were sorry when it was time to leave.

  • Good location, short drive to downtown Kona. Disapointed the bbq didn't have propane. Booked last minute and didn't realize there would be an additional 13.5% fee charged on arrival. Didn't show up on the smart phone so we were surprised and confused. Room went from the $59 advertised to $86 per night. Big jump. Not Kay's fault. But I feel somehow misinformed about the total room cost. I would stay here again. Nice indoor/outdoor setup. Air bnb should be more upfront about the total cost!

    February 2014
  • Kay's place was all we needed for our stay in Kona, the outdoor space was like an outdoor living room and we enjoyed our evenings out there. Kay was there as little or as much as we needed her, never invading on our space. Overall pleased with our stay there. The only draw back was the traffic noise but we live on a busy street at home so it was no big deal. We felt very safe and comfortable here.
