Other Things to Note
Directions from Kona Airport: At airport exit, turn right on HI-19. Continue straight for about 10 miles. Turn left on Sunset Drive (one block past stop light for Seaview Circle). Take first left onto Nalani Street. House is third driveway on the left.
Parking is on street in front of my house. If I am not available to meet you, please let yourself in through door in front right of garage. Make yourselves comfortable. Everything is self explanatory.
Guests are not allowed to use laundry facilities due to some problems in the past. If you really need to do a load, let me know and I will do it.
Garbage goes in large grey container at front left of garage. Beach supplies are near your door in garage.
Most importantly, please let me know of any needs or problems so I can help you enjoy your stay.
The host had let me know in advance that she would not be there to meet me - directions and access to the apartment were made simple. Good central location (close to beaches with swimming & snorkeling as well as other services close by) in a nice residential neighborhood. The covered lanai with out door living room and kitchenette with view onto the garden with a distant view of the ocean was great for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. The only downside was that the bedroom and bathroom could have been cleaner.
We spent 3 very nice days at Kay's studio ohana in Kailua Kona.
The location is great for access to Ali'i Drive, but away from the hussle and noise with easy access to South Kona. The lanai is lovely and very well equipped - really everything you might need, plus snorkeling equipment. Also a very good value.
Very nice apartment with beautiful terrace. Kay is very friendly. We loved breakfast on terrace with geckos. We recommend this place to everyone.
Kay is a terrific host, a warm and friendly person with tons of Aloha. The studio is compact but has everything you need; comfortable bed, simple but complete cooking facilities, nice shower, and adorable geckos. The house is in a peaceful residential neighborhood, although there was some traffic noise from Hwy. 11 - but not detrimental to our stay. Good location with easy access to downtown Kailua and snorkle destinations to the south. A great value and highly recommended!
Kay provided an absolutely fantastic stay. The lanai was great for watching sunsets and enjoying meals and the snorkel/beach gear came in very handy. The room was cozy and comfy and great to come back to after a long day of hiking and snorkeling. Thanks a ton, Kay!!
We stayed at this conveniently located place for 2 wks. Kay gave us clear directions how to get there before we arrived. Even if the appartment is close to the higway it is pretty quiet during nights. Kitchen was actually a two-plate-heater, an oven, microwave, BBQ-grill and fridge out on the patio. Dishes were kept in the bedroom on a shelf and were done in the laundry. Even though the place is small we had enough room for our stuff. Kay provides guests with all the things needed for a perfect beach day (towels, boards, snorkel gear etc.). The only downside of the appartment was that is was in some places a little run down and dirty (sink in laundry, carpet) but there is enough stuff to clean, which we did. We even had one or two roaches during our stay.
The gekkos on the patio are a lot of fun to watch, but better keep all food inside - they are hungry :-) I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to be close to Kona and the beaches!!!!
