Gordon was a very thoughtful host. Although he was out-of-town when we arrived, he texted me all the pertinent details regarding keys, settling in, and even included the telephone number of a neighbor in case we ran into difficulties. He also left us a nifty "guide to the neighborhood" which explained where to go for what. I wasn't sure about staying in a basement suite that had no natural light but I found the room to be very comfortable - dark and comfortable :) Be sure to set your alarm if you want to hit the trail early! A pleasant perk was that we could sit out in the garden in the morning to have our coffee. We spent most of our time in Manhattan, but there is also a lot to see and do in the neighborhood. We stumbled on a fantastic restaurant just two blocks from the house and a great coffee shop. Another perk is that there is a half-price TKTS booth within walking distance (or a short hop on the subway) that opens a couple of hours earlier than the two TKTS booths in Manhattan, plus, the lines are a lot shorter.
All in all, it was a wonderful place to call home for a few days - much better than any hotel and of course the price was right! And, yes, the shower is awesome.
The stay at Gordon's was very satisfactory. He is a nice host, and everything went smoothly. The house is very beautiful, furnished and decorated with a lot of taste. The room i occupied was in the basement, so no windows, but that I knew beforehand and it was its only minus, as it is spacious, confortable, extremely quiet and it has a very nice bathroom. The neighobourhod is also nice, and the location is such that you can actually walk to Manhattan via the Brooklyn bridge, beside beign well served by public transportation. If I will go ack to NYC, i'll try to make a reservation there again.
Gordon was super helpful and made my stay comfortable. The room looked exactly like it did in the pictures. Communication was great. Everything was stress free. This would be the first place I checked to stay on my next NYC visit!
Gordon is a lovely host. And he has a beautiful hone. We totally fell in love with the neighbourhood! There are nice bars and (healthy) food options.
I've slept like a baby and everything was nice and cleen! I WOULD DEFENITLY RECOMMEND STAYING AT GORDONS!!
Gordon is a very nice host to work with. He is understanding, patient and positive. He worked with us and provided a wonderful space. The space is beautiful, eclectic and comfortable. The location is wonderful as well.
Gordon was a great host. The house was comfortable and convenient to everything we needed. Would consider a return visit if back in NYC
Gordon was a friendly and helpful host, and this is a lovely home in a great Brooklyn neighborhood.
the bedroom was comfortable, the bathroom amazing. However I wasn't aware that the bedroom was in the basement, therefore I really struggled with my luggage (large heavy suitcase). Having the use of the amazing kitchen was great. I was also on my own in the building for my first night which was a bit daunting. The location was excellent for me as my niece lived nearby. I definitely recommend the area & this accommodation to anyone visiting New York (no heavy luggage though!)
I like to be home to greet guests when I can, but can't guarantee that always. This home (and airbnb in general) is better suited for the self-contained visitor. This is a beautiful home indeed, but not a Four Seasons--with a butler or porter at your disposal. Most cab drivers are happy to help you bring your bags in (if heavy) if you tip them. I personally like to travel light!
Prima tweepersoons bed
Gordon is een plezierig gastheer, die goede tips kan geven over bezienswaardigheden in Brooklyn.
Brooklyn was a great neighbourhood to stay in and Gordon's place was well positioned to explore this end of New York. Only a short walk to Brooklyn Bridge with great veiws of lower Manhattan and close to subway transport which was a quick ride into Lower Manhattan
