Solemagia rents 1 double bedrooms placed on independent building in Via del Santo, the central Carugio of Vernazza, 2 minutes from sea and railstation and right at the start of the hiking trail in Cinque Terre.
Tastefully decorated with great attention to detail, rooms are all colored and are equipped with all facilities.
At the top floor there is the common area and terrace where you can spend pleasant hours with a magnificent view over the village.
Gemmy is such a sweetheart! She was very kind to meet us at the train station and walk us to her place. It was a great location, and a very nice and clean room. I would definitely stay with Gemmy again!
Gemmy met me at the train station and showed me to the apartment. I don't speak Italian, but she did a good job of explaining everything I needed to know. The apartment is right by the train station, and it was a very easy walk compared to some of the other places I saw. I enjoyed my stay.
We traveled with friends and rented 2 of Gemmy's bedrooms for 3 nights when we stayed in Vernazza. Gemmy was very kind and greeted us at the train station even for our late arrival at 9:30 pm. Gemmy is very sweet and impossible not to love. She showed us to the apartment, which is pretty much required since homes are right on top of one another in Cinque Terre. Both rooms were very clean and well kept. Everything was in working order. No AC or wifi, but that is pretty standard in Cinque Terre and clearly communicated beforehand.
This private Room and bath was perfect for my stay in Vernazza. Clean and comfortable. It is less than 2 mins walking from the train, and 2 mins to the waterfront. There are lots of stairs getting up to the room, which is at the top of the house, so make sure you don't overpack/you're prepared. Gemma was great, I called her when I arrived and she met me at the train station. She was very accommodating. There is not internet in the house, but there is an internet cafe with WI-FI just a few steps from the house. This room was perfectly situated for a stay in Vernazza. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who plans to visit the area.
Gemma's place is perfect & her location is too! The bedroom had just what we needed for a lovely & comfortable stay. The room is clean & neat, the bathroom is modern & clean.
Gemma herself is also lovely. Vernazza & the cinque terre were our favorite part of the entire trip to Italy. A little tricky to find, but like any treasure, it was worth it! Pack lightly, it's a hike from the parking to the village. We kept the big suitcase in the car & just took the small carry on into Vernazza.
This particular experience solidified our desire to always use AirBnB instead of hotels. There were some minor issues with the hot water (things just break sometimes) but Gemma went above and beyond to compensate us and to make us comfortable. We highly recommend this or any other of Gemma's flats for your Cinque terre trip. They are cute, quaint and full of character. Thanks again for allowing us to stay!
First of all Gemma is a very nice and helpful person and we had no problems communicating. When we arrived she picked us from the station and told us that we will get a other room than the booked one. This room was located directly next to the train station. On the first view the room looked nice and clean. But after we came back from a visit of the village the room was smelly and very humid. After two nights we were sure that this room has a urgent humidity problem and needs renovation. For this money I would expect a less noisier and smelly room.
Gemmy's flat is perfectly located in Vernazza, and even if the room is noisy at times and the mattress is a little basic, it has the necessary stuff with the location as the biggest plus.
Gemma is a happy, smiley, helpful and nice host. She took us from the train station and brought into the bedroom. The bedroom is really cute, comfy, clean, and has a bathroom inside. It was such a nice experience to stay in one of those narrow Vernazza apartments.
We were a little unlucky about the weather conditions, it was raining a lot. When we arrived there, we realized that there was a big flood last year the same day and everyone was commemorating their loss ((website hidden)). Gemma told us with fearful eyes that the weather forecast warned people about another flood, so we can cancel the next day's reservation if we want. It was written on flyers everywhere that hiking is strictly forbidden since the weather conditions are really tough. We decided to go but the next morning she woke us up with good news, that there won't be a disaster but 1 or 2 restaurants will be open. Then we changed our mind and decided to stay. We took a walk in this sweet village and saw how people were scared and preparing for another flood, lots of wood barriers in front of shops etc. Hopefully there were some restaurants open, and we enjoyed really really tasty seafood. The village recovered really well..
We had some English speaking troubles sometimes with Gemma. She can speak little bit English. For example, she told us before that there will be wifi connection in the room, but there wasn't and whenever we asked it, she replied us completely another thing :) We enjoyed her hospitality and restaurant recommendations! I recommend to stay here.
