The space

I am renting out 1 room in a lovely apartment in Nairobi. Kileleshwa Area. This is a fully furnished apartment. My apartment is a three bedroomed house on the 1st floor of a small block of apartments. This is a family apartment and you will share it with us.
The apartment block has 24-hour security and is is well lit.

We offer the following
A light breakfast and a Light Dinner. You will enjoy my cuisine. My cooking is a contemporary fusion of European, African and Asian styles. This will tantalise your taste buds while still giving you a real African gourmet experience.
My apartment is perfect for those coming for holidays or tours, short time work including interns as well as those coming on business. We help in travel or local holiday destination and local shopping advice. We have had guests who stay as a stopover to other Kenyan or African destinations including students, tourists and people working in Non Profit Organisations
You will experience the true culture in our apartment. The food experience is excellent . All my guest have an opportunity to learn how to cook their favourite African meal.
In the apartment you are free to use the kitchen, the lounge and all other house amenities.
There is also a lovely garden for unwinding and welcoming your guests or small barbecue parties. To maintain the ambiance of the apartment, responsible smoking is only allowed in the garden where there is plenty of relaxation space.

The apartment is accessible by public means or by taxi (cab). It is 7 minutes drive from the city centre. The cheapest taxis are run by UBER. If you are registered in UBER, you will be able to easily access these services at rates better than the regular taxis. Nontheless regular taxis are easily available. The Kasuku centre shopping centre is 3 minutes walk from the apartment. Here you can get various foods and a small coffee shop along with a restaurant for unwinding.
We are also close to the Arboretum, which provides the greatest nature walk in Nairobi.

We offer one of our spacious bedrooms with a real and good double bed. We provide enough beddings (bed sheets, duvets, pillows and pillow cases ), which are changed every two days or as per the guest’s request. The bed can be used by a single person or a couple.
The bathroom is shared by other members of the family. We keep it clean all the time and you will hardly notice our presence.
The entire apartment has large windows and therefore you will enjoy great natural light during the day which makes the place cosy and warm. There is electricity and therefore enough light for evenings and nights.
We ensure that the house is free of bugs such as insects. We also provide extra mosquito repellent just in case some stray insects enter in the evening.
Internet connectivity is available in the lounge area and you are free to use the lounge and internet all day. This applies to the kitchen as well. You can use the kitchen at will. All the same we shall always provide you with breakfast and dinner.
There are various supermarkets are in the vicinity where you can buy additional groceries. These include Chandarana at Yaya Centre, Nakumatt Prestige, Uchumi in Westlands, or Sarit Centre. All these malls are only 7 to 10 minutes drive away. The nearest is Kasuku Centre which is 3 minutes walk away and stocks many basic items.

Our place is very comfortable and you will enjoy staying with us. Wifi is available. There is a clean compound where you can relax, ride a bike, swing and even read a book in the garden.

There is always somebody in the house whom you can chat with and share ideas. You can also join us in small outings including going for picnics on weekend, church, family parties among other things. However this depends mainly on what event you find us in when you arrive.

We are in Kileleshwa, a safe and secure environment. Very near the city centre and many outdoor places. Transport is quite easy and visiting the neighbourhood will give you a good feel of Nairobi. The malls have many restaurants and coffee shops. You can also find Chemists and pharmacies, banks and ATMs, money exchange, courier and travel agencies, hospitals and clinics nearby.
The Maasai Market usually sells all types of curios, traditional blankets and dresses, beads, baskets, ethnic jewelryand other locally made items. Massai market is on every Saturday in the city centre( parking of the Law Courts), Sundays at Yaya Centre and at the Junction Mall. This is a wonderful market for finding African (and mostly Kenyan ) themed souvenirs.

There are many budget trips from local transport agencies for trips around town or for short upcountry tours such as Hell's Gate National Park, Lake Naivasha, Lake Elementaita, Lake Nakuru National Park, the Masai Mara, Lakes Baringo and Bogoria, Mt Kenya National Park among others.

Welcome to Helen's, a home away from home! Helen brings enthusiasm to making her guest feel welcome to both her home and Kenya. Was very flexible in accommodating my travel schedule. It was a joy to spend time with her family and break bread at their table.
