Moose Lodge is a rustic, antique decored, upstairs garage apartment/lodge. It offers use of the lake and dock, Moose Meadows (private garden & firepit area), and a birds-eye view of all your surroundings. Melt away your worries and visit the lake!

The space

Moose Lodge has all the ambiance of a mountain lodge. The attached deck provides a rustic sitting and a dining area for four. There Is a grill on the deck for your convenience. This overlooks Moose Meadows, which is a private garden that offers the opportunity for lying in the hammock under the trees, sitting by a bond fire during cooler weather, or sipping on a glass of wine at one of the various sitting areas on the hillside, while enjoying the view. Listen to the tree frogs and watch the magic of the fire flies during the summer evenings. Keep a watchful eye for the flying squirrels, once the sun has set. They are a joy to watch.

Moose Lodge is a separate building from the main house. It offers plenty of privacy. The main house is 80 yards away, down hill, towards the lake. Please take note of the pictures, so that you are aware of the terrain changes to the lake.

We are located in a cove off of the main body of water of Lake Lanier. Feel free to use our two touring kayaks for a sunrise venture or for exploring the waters around the lake. Enjoy our double-deck dock by relaxing in the lounge chairs or preparing a meal on the grill. The canopy that covers the dining table and chairs offers a warm atmosphere for socializing while enjoying the lake. You may even be enticed to throw a fishing line in the water and try your luck. Swimming is a must during the summer. The water temperature is an inviting 85 degrees for several months.

Moose Lodge is fifteen minutes from downtown Gainesville and thirty minutes from historic Dahlonega. In less than an hour you can venture to just about anywhere in North Georgia. There are trails for hiking and mountain biking. Make sure you venture to at least one of the numerous waterfalls in the area. There are several golf courses within a twenty minute drive. There are two zip-lining businesses within 40 minutes of Moose Lodge. The North Georgia Wine Country is within 30 minutes and offers 6 wineries. Lake Lanier Islands offers a water park for those hot summer days, as well as numerous other activities for the adventurous. You can be in downtown Atlanta in one hour, if you desire to experience the city. And the airport is 75 minutes away.

Guest access

The lodge is set up with coffee & tea. There are plenty of spices in the cabinet and condiments in the refridgerator. There is a blender, toaster oven, grill, tea kettle, coffee maker, baggies, tin foil, knapkins, papertowels, etc.
The bathroom has a hair dryer, first aid kit, soap, and shampoo. Flashlights, small cooler, and games are provided, as well.
Bedding, linens, towels, extra pillows and blankets are provided for your convenience.
Don't forget the kayaks and floats at the dock or the firepit and hammock in Moose Meadows!

Interaction with guests

Your hostess is a licensed Massage Therapist who happens to have her office down by the lake. You might as well spoil yourself all the way!! The serenity and privacy that Moose Lodge offers will make your vacation a memorable experience.

Barbara was an excellent host! The Moose Lodge is adorable and very welcoming. Our family enjoyed every minute there kayaking, jet skiing, swimming and fishing. Spending Labor Day weekend there was the perfect way to end our summer. We already want to come back!

Barbara's lodge and dock area were nice. They were clean and well-stocked. Barbara herself was responsive, i.e. when a member of our party got a cut, she sent over band-aids and hydrogen peroxide. She also thoughtfully sprayed the shrubbery below the lodge to help get rid of the mosquitoes. Thanks again for the stay!

Very nice place to stay, much more inside and outside space than we were expecting with lots of character. The house was stocked with all the simple things you may want or need. Very peaceful outside area, great to relax and enjoy some down time. Great boat dock to hang out on with water floats ect. Our host Barbara was very nice providing all the information we needed while allow us the privacy we enjoyed. We will certainly stay at this location again.

Moose lodge lives up to its name with its cute moose decor. Barbara was incredibly kind and easy to work with. She was responsive when needed but otherwise allowed us to enjoy the space. We had a great time and would certainly come back!

Barbara was very welcoming and was flexible with our accommodations as it was a last minute booking. There was a bottle of wine and fresh pumpkin bread when we arrived. The location was gorgeous and the pictures don't do it justice! Moose lodge had everything we needed and more. We felt right at home and would recommend this place to family and friends.

My wife, 6 year old daughter, newborn and I stayed at Moose Lodge over the weekend. Barbara was very friendly and responsive. We were greeted by wine and fresh baked pumpkin bread. We found the place both quaint and clean. It was a bit chilly so we didn't partake of any water sports but did enjoy spending some time by the lake. My 6 year old and I enjoyed the friendly did in the area. Simply put, we had a nice relaxing break from the norm.

I live in Gainesville, GA, on the shores of Lake Lanier. I am a self-employed massage therapist. I have many interests: lake activities of all kinds (of course!), hiking, biking, adventures of many sorts, gardening, physical activities of all kinds, cooking, golf, crossfit, etc.
