Built to house NASA employees in 1964 to communicate with ‘man on the moon’!

This humble abode has charm, & is decked out with all you need. An open plan living space has two queen size beds, with the option for another double/or two singles in the bedroom.

A Kigelia Tree shades a large deck at the front of the duplex.

Located a few minutes walk from supermarket & local bars, Restaurants.

Hero's Rest IS OLD but loved & undergoing improvements, so if you're POSH it may not be for you!

The space
The main bedroom is a at the front of house and has a queen bed with quality cotton sheets.

The second bed is situated in the sleep out in the back of the duplex making this charming accommodation more studio apartment.

The comfortable sofa bed is located in the lounge.

Total sleeping options = 3 double beds.

The large deck at front of house is shaded by Kigelia Africana (Sausage tree) which has huge nocturnal flowers. The fruit provide food for hippos. But don’t worry, there are no hippos in Carnarvon! It’s also been called the G&T tree...

This in my home, I love it. It’s rough cut and not perfect, but it is comfortable and I’m delighted you may call it home while I’m traveling with work!

Wishing Well!

Where you’ll be

Carnarvon, Western Australia, Australia

Hero’s Rest is one half of a duplex. It is possible to book both ‘Hero’s Rest and the Pirate Place together. The duplex shares one large deck underneath a beautiful cool tree. It also shares access into the property.

This duplex is serene, a great place to stay for a few days to rest and recharge from long journeys, a one night stop over, or a perfect place to reside if you’re on a short contract in Carnarvon, Western Australia

Some guests have been shocked by the neighbourhood of old houses, by the duplex being old and in disrepair! Despite this, my place is in a good location in Carnarvon, is surrounded by a neighbourhood of GOOD people, is comfortable, clean and has a new kitchen, but an old bathroom with great hot water pressure.

If you’re after high end class there are other great places to stay along the Fascine… but my place is safe, is loved, is comfortable, affordable and pet friendly.
