Interaction with guests

We're both a little reserved but we love hosting. We make great recommendations and love to chat. Amy works from home and is always available if you need anything.

The neighborhood

Historic Edgewater Glen is a quiet, safe neighborhood. It has a walking score of 91 which makes it perfect for those who want to explore Chicago on foot or by train. Fantastic restaurants and other amenities (market, dry cleaner, bars, coffee shops, etc.) are all only a block or two away.

Free street parking is available for those coming by car. See our parking recommendations for more information.

Getting around

Our home is located 1 mile north of Chicago's popular Andersonville neighborhood, and is a 6 minute walk from the El, Loyola's Lakeshore campus, lakefront and the beach.

The Loop is only 30 minutes away via public transportation. To travel downtown, we recommend taking the Red Line train from Granville (about a six minute walk), or the 147 Loop Express (catch it around the corner at Broadway and Devon).

We also recommend Uber for getting around. Uber is widely used in Chicago, as is Lyft Both are easy to use and relatively inexpensive.

Chicago now has a convenient, easy to use bike sharing system called Divvy. For more information on Divvy, go to

I and my girlfriend had a two weeks vacation in Chicago. The apartment is big, bright and lovely and is also new and well-equipped. It's located in a nice district close to Downtown (30 min ca. with the CTA). Amy was very friendly and nice. She quickly replayed to our questions and gave us perfect tips. I recommended this apartment for your trip in Chicago.

I thought Amy & Holly's place was a great fit for me! Super close to Loyola and friends/family to visit. Easy quick walk to public transport too. Lovely, clean apartment and easygoing hosts!

It was an amazing stay. Amy and Holly's apartment is comfortable and super clean. They gave me the most detailed check-in instructions and provided lots of useful information about the neighborhood and the city. The location was not the central, but the apartment was very close to public transit and the neighborhood was very nice - plenty of places for food but not noisy. Overall, this place is a super good value for the price, and I'm very glad I chose to stay here.

Excellent apartment and place to stay. Amy & Holly were very accommodating and hospitable. The space heater in the bedroom was a wonderful bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

Amy and Holly have a wonderful home-the vibe is very warm and laid-back. Even though I am from a small, rural community, and don't often travel to large cities, I felt perfectly safe. The space was also very quiet and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the wi-fi was great! I have already recommended this place to several people!

This is a great room in a lovely apartment. Amy and Holly gave very detailed instructions about everything, from check-in to parking to amenities and use of the apartment. We love this neighborhood and feel fortunate to have been able to stay there. It was a quick overnight trip but we loved the space.

My partner and I moved from St. Louis to Chicago 8 years ago. We love entertaining, cook often and spend lots of time in nearby Andersonville. We love the arts, great food and can definitely recommend a variety of great things to do in Chicago.
