Welcome to Edgewater Escape, a luxury bayfront loft apartment that hangs entirely over the bay on 7th street in downtown Ocean City. Sit on the bay front porch or hang out inside and watch boats, dolphin, birds, and sometimes even seals swim by within feet of the porch. The loft has a roomy king sized bed and the downstairs couch pulls out into a comfy queen bed. Recently renovated, it comes fully equipped for your big trip or quiet staycation :)
The space
Step inside and be greeted by natural light pouring through floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors, framing stunning views of the bay. To the left, you'll find a full kitchen with custom butcher block countertops, and to the right, a half bath with handcrafted cabinetry. A downstairs closet provides a convenient spot for luggage or extras.
The living area features a spacious dining table for four, a smart TV with streaming, and a cozy couch that folds out into a queen bed. The sliding doors lead to a newly built porch, outfitted with Adirondack chairs and a counter-height bar with stools—perfect for enjoying drinks or meals while taking in the view.
A split A/C unit with remote keeps the space comfortable. Upstairs, the loft bedroom is accessed by a spiral staircase. The open layout maintains bay views and natural light, offering a serene, boat-like feel as you look out over the water.
The loft features a plush king bed, dimmable sconces on each side, ample closet and drawer space, a washer/dryer, and a second smart TV. The upstairs bathroom includes a stand-up shower with a river rock base. Please note: the loft is not fully enclosed, but separated by a railing to preserve the airy, open vibe of the space.
Both TVs are equipped with streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, Prime) and support AirPlay and other screen casting—just log in with your account and enjoy.
Guest access
Guests will be able to access the entire space including all aspects of the kitchen. We have a keypad on the door and will send a custom code when the booking is confirmed. Look for an email from August lock :) Just lock it on your way out and you're good to go!
We have a small security camera outside the front door that helps us monitor the security of the space. Some people are a little confused when they see a camera upon arrival so we just wanted to let everyone know.
There are three steps that lead to the entrance of the unit. In addition, one must be comfortable using the spiral staircase in order to access the second floor loft space. There is one parking space included for compact vehicles only and also for loading/unloading purposes. If your car sticks out into the street when you park in the space then it is too big for the parking spot. There is free street parking up and down Edgewater and all of the side streets. The street is one way so please be aware of that when driving.
** A couple weather-related things at this property:
---Due to the unique nature of this space and its proximity to the bay, there are certain times a year that the street and the walkway to the unit are flooded. In these rare occasions you will need to be comfortable walking through water (up to knee high) to access the unit. We will do our best to try to forecast those events, but they are difficult to predict or plan for. If the street is flooded or access to the unit is more difficult, we can not provide a refund for your stay.
---In the winter there is potential for the pipes to freeze (since they are underneath and exposed to the water / air) so we ask our guests to pour some antifreeze down the drain on below freezing nights. Just be aware that if you book with us during the winter months that this is a possibility! Thank you!!
There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and other attractions close walking distance from the building. The beach and boardwalk are just a 4 block (about 1/4 of a mile) walk from the building, making for easy access to all that the boardwalk has to offer but also tucked away enough such that you feel like you are in your own little haven away from the crowds.
Other things to note
- We happily provide linens, towels, toilet paper, cooking utensils, paper towels, and cleaning products. Just bring your luggage and we'll take care of the rest :)
- Due to the demand for our properties, we are not able to accommodate any late checkouts or early checkins. Sorry!
- If there are any concerns or items that need extra cleaning we require that you let us know by 3:15pm so that we can get our cleaners back there to address it.
- Please make sure you read over the cancelation policy thoroughly.
- We welcome and love hosting families with children, but our unit does not have some of the special features and items that Airbnb requires to be "suitable for children". We encourage all families to bring whatever items you need to make your stay more comfortable with little ones.
- We are very available and live nearby to help with any issues that may arise, but we also use some auto-messaging to help get you ready for your trip with all the important information.

Neighborhood highlights
Downtown Ocean City has so much to offer and the list of attractions is only growing! We both lived just two streets away from here for a long time in the early years of our relationship, so the area carries a lot of sentimental value for us. Afternoon strolls or biking up and down Edgewater Ave bring back the best of memories. The beauty of Edgewater is that you have the convenience of being walking distance from the boardwalk, beach, dining, and entertainment while also the luxury of unobstructed bay front and sunset views that many people will walk from the beach to watch. While the neighborhood is close to the attractions, it happens to also be a quieter, one-way residential street filled with mostly people who live/rent along the street. You will see many locals and visitors riding bikes, going on walks or runs, fishing, or simply taking in the beauty of the water on this street. So, one can have fun walking around town and enjoying the attractions that Downtown Ocean City has to offer while also having the ability to come home to a retreat from the crowd.

My wife Melissa and I love traveling and were inspired to create our first Airbnb (Light & Airy) after staying in some amazing places around the world.
