Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
An organic farm in your "backyard" & large deck w/ sunset & pine forest views at the front, our "Red Oak" 16ft yurt is a stylish glamping experience offering much more privacy than any typical campground experience (only two yurts and the camp host dwelling within the entire campground). A rustic adventure best suited to those who have a comfort level with campground-type facilities: warm in summer, wood-heated in winter. A bathroom building is 150 ft away, with a shower house just beyond.

Colfax, California, United States

Colfax is a charming railroad/gold rush town just off of highway 80. It has a full sized grocery store and a Starbuck's, but also boasts good eating spots and antique stores.

Wood-fired pizza is definitely worth the stop at Il Pizzaiolo. For more traditional American food, try Dine 'n' Dash.

Hiking and swimming at the American river is just a short drive down into the canyon, and the majestic Yuba river, sweet Gold Country towns and the high Sierra (cross country skiiing!) are only 20-45 min from here. We can help direct you to our favorite hiking trails and other cool sites in the area.

During your stay
Given it's forest location, it's highly recommended that guests arrive during daylight hours. If you can't, please reach out to us before reserving to be sure we will be available in the evening to help.

We provide detailed instruction on how to navigate arrival and will be available via text during check-in hours to help in any way. We live on the property and are happy to help with anything you need, but much like a campground host, pretty much hands-off unless you need us. We love sharing the farm with others and making recommendations for activities in the foothills so do reach out with any questions and anything you need!.
