About This Listing
The guest bedroom is a cozy space with a nice queen sized bed, a small desk for spreading out work or play and a closet for hanging your clothes. There is a stack of pamphlets from local attractions for the adventure seekers.
Quaint and charming are some of the words used to describe this unique place. The manor has an enclosed courtyard with plenty of room for your next family function or gathering. We have a wonderful doberman named Scorch. She is very well socialized and well behaved. The Manor is in its last phase of reconstruction (kitchen) thus the affordable price. We are close to downtown St. Paul and Mpls with access to the freeway within a mile or so.

Interaction with Guests
I try to determine the right amount of interaction per guest. I like to chat and have stimulating discussion but also know when its time to get busy and get things done.
I live in a diverse neighborhood that is often busy and bustling but we have a compound that creates an inner sanctum, like a place out of time. It has been described as a country place hidden in the city.
Plenty of mass transit options, the bus line is only 1 1/2 blocks away and light rail is open between Minneapolis and St Paul and is about 12 blocks from us.
I also offer airport pick up and/or drop off for $20 a trip. Other rides can be arranged as well according to my schedule.
Other Things to Note
This is my house and I am opening up my home to you. We are not a standard Bed and Breakfast but a bed a room a shared bath a shared kitchen.
Same rules as when you went to grandma's house. Be nice and play fair.
Sean and Scorch made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the Manor. The room was as advertised with a lovely and extremely comfortable bed which we didn't actually sleep in because Sean upgraded us to the Master Bedroom.
Loved the sunken bathtub and dual shower. Loved the private sitting room with the lion pelt, buffalo, and cobra. Loved the courtyard too. The manor is also close to many great places to eat with easy access to Como Park, downtown St. Paul, and U of M neighborhoods.
Sean's prices fairly reflect that he is remodeling the manor but rest assured that his projects are well contained and in no way detract from the charm of the place. You may find yourself as we did, cheering him on as he makes the Manor ever better. If you like the eclectic, stay at the manor. You'll be glad you did.
I stayed at the Castle with my two children. Sean was a gracious host and kept us weary travelers entertained with his friendly dog. We enjoyed the antiques and decor. The kids and I had a lovely time in the jetted bath-tub!
I absolutely loved staying with Sean and Scorch at The Manor, and I would highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a pleasant stay in St. Paul. It was my first time using AirBnB and I'm so happy it was a great experience. Sean really made me feel comfortable and was always asking if I needed anything to make my stay more pleasant. The room was clean and I had a basket of toiletries for my use. Sean's house is only a few blocks from buses that go downtown, and if you had a bit of time, you could walk to a nearby Green Line LRT station as well. Sean himself is really pleasant and amiable, and his artistic personality is totally reflected in his house and property. Give The Manor a try, you won't regret it :)
Sean's manor is quite interesting and full of little details you pick up the longer you stay in the manor and walk around. Sean's also an interesting guy happy to talk about his projects and whatever other topic may come up. I recall him telling me how dogs can smell 'dimensionally' - a claim he proved to me by playing treat hide n seek with his dog, Scorch.
The dog, Scorch, is very well-behaved and ably protects the property. Though a work in progress, the manor is a unique visit.
Sean, his place, and his dog were all as advertised. He was very generous with his time, giving me a ride on my first day in St Paul when that made all the difference to how my day went. I appreciated having the little shampoos and such, as well.

About the Host, Sean
Hello and welcome
As well as being the owner operator of the Manor I am an artist and creative inventor. It is my goal to open up the large carriage house studio work space as a place to hold workshops and mentorships for many disciplines of art. Not only teaching myself but also hosting different experienced artists to share their talents and teachings as well.
I have a dog named Scorch. She is five years old and is very well mannered. She loves to meet people and has become a veteran of airbnb hosting. She loves attention as most dogs do but will understand if you tell her no.
I truly appreciate that Airbnb has become a way for me to continue in my artistic endeavors without having to sacrifice time to a conventional career.
I provide a home for travelers, as I am frequently one myself.
