About This Listing
You'll be staying in either mine or my roommate Meghan's bedroom. My room has a private bathroom connected to it, whereas Meghan's bathroom is in the hallway. We alternate rooms with each reservation we book. Whose ever room you'll be in, one of us will most likely be crashing out on the couch in the living room, so it's a pretty casual Airbnb situation. Just a heads up so you're not weirded out by one of us sleeping on the couch, ha.
Please not that while we will obviously sweep and clean before you arrive, we do not hire someone to professionally clean and we're living in the space.
You'll have full access to our kitchen where you're welcome to use our fridge, stove, cooking utensils, etc, living room (badass Ikea couch and TV w/Apple TV which we have accounts for HBO, Hulu and Netflix to), washer and dryer in unit right by the kitchen. Gated community with free visitor parking and a lovely pool.
Interaction with Guests
Meghan and I are usually in and out at home when we're not at work so we will be home, but never in your way! Since we are also usually staying there when you're there, it'll be pretty casual living situation, kind of as if you have roommates while staying with us. Happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have. We can be reached in all forms: phone, email, text, Instagram, (website hidden), carrier pigeon...
Our lovely apartment is located just at the tail end of South Congress, super close to downtown. 10-15 minute walking distance to tons of great bars, restaurants and shops, like Uncommon Objects, Amy's Ice Cream, Homeslice Pizza, Continental Club, and South Congress Cafe. Feel free to ask for recs, esp in the eating and drinking dept because it's kiiind of what we do best.
We live right across from a cool convenience store called River City Mart, next to the CVS, and right by the grocery store HEB.
Cabs/Uber/Lyft are pretty cheap to downtown (we're a 5 minute drive) and the bus stop outside our complex runs along South Congress couple bus stops near us (that's about the extent of knowledge of buses we have).
Please help yourself to anything in our apartment. We want you to feel at home!
Our neighbors, for the most part, are older, so please be mindful when coming back late at night. And please no smoking!
Loved staying with Thien-Y and her roommate! The location was a great place to see Austin, and Thien-Y was extremely helpful with recommendations for great things to do (and eat!) around the city. The apartment was clean and beautiful, and in a nice, safe neighborhood. Would definitely recommend!
My boyfriend and I had a great stay at Thien-y's place! It was our first time using air bnb and the spot was clean, organized, and in a great location. South congress was a great place to walk around and Thien-y gave us a great list of spots to check out. She was easy to get a hold of and very friendly. We were in town for psych fest and she seemed fine with us coming and going at odd hours. Great first stay in Austin !
My parents stayed here on their first night in the U.S to catch up on sleep after a long journey from Ireland. The girls made it very easy for my parents. They were friendly but them space. The room was very comfortable and they felt well rested! Perfect location and exactly what we wanted.
We had a wonderful stay at Thien-Y's apartment. While we never met Thien-Y personally, she gave us very clear directions (plus extensive restaurant and outing recommendations) to make our stay comfortable and convenient and her roommate Meghan warmly welcomed us. The room is nice and comfortable and the location is wonderful, close to all the great shops/restaurants on S Congress and 1st. We couldn't have asked for more out of our first Austin trip!
I highly recommend this spot. Both she and her roommate Meghan are extremely amicable and accommodating. The room was spotless, well-organized, and very comfortable. The neighborhood is also conveniently situated - there is a CVS and a gourmet store just across the street - and their unit area is quite pretty. I was only there for one night, but all told it was a lovely time.
My buddy and I were in town for a wedding, and Thien-y & Meghan's condo was in the PERFECT location! We walked every day from the condo - 5 min walk to SoCo shops, bars and restaurants. If you like walking, it's not that much further to downtown, 1st St and Lamar - it's all RIGHT out the front door. The complex is gated which made it feel safer. There is also a POOL which we utilized on the hottest day. Also, since you're in the PRIMO spot, catching an Uber was no problem - usually only a 4-5 min wait time. They have a full kitchen, and a washer/ dryer in the unit which was an added bonus. The hostesses were very hospitable - not minding when I used their Keurig to make coffee in the morning or use of their shampoos, conditioner, soap, lotion, etc. No smoking inside the condo, but if you do smoke, there is a cute, tree-covered area just outside the front door with chairs. There is also a great little gourmet market just across the street from the complex that has a great selection of microbrews, wine, sandwiches, organic snacks, and some basic veggies and groceries.
I dropped into Austin at the end of SXSW so the place was buzzing, the live music, people watching and soaking up Austin was everything I wanted. My accommodation made getting involved easy, it was in the cool South Congress area. Super handy for the SOCO district, walking/cycling distance from Downtown or metro for those less inclined to walk.
Accommodation was simple and easy to use, Thien-Y made sure you felt relaxed finding the place was easy with the instructions Thien-Y emailed, including insider tips on the good eatery's both in SOCO and Downtown.
Helped with additional requested prior and during the stay.
Thanks again guys....
