Our stay was fantastic. The room at Carol & Wayne's is extremely scenic and very relaxing. It is in a very convenient area of Newport within walking distance to downtown and the Mansion cliffwalk. Carol & Wayne were very nice hosts; hospitable, kind and personal. They prepared a wonderful breakfast for us and some interesting conversation about there chocolate business.
Carol and Wayne were great hosts. The room was exactly as pictured and the accommodations and breakfast were as described in other reviews. You really couldn't ask for better hosts. The location is great, though we thought a car was necessary to get around the area - especially since we were only in town a couple of days.
Our stay at Carol and Wayne's was amazing! Their house is beautiful and the room was perfect for us (plus the view is great). It was close to everything we wanted to do in Newport. Carol made us a delicious breakfast and it was nice chatting with her. We would definitely go back!
Carol and Wayne were amazing hosts with a beautiful home! We loved our short stay with them, and wished that we had more time to spend in Newport. We are already talking about going back and would absolutely look at staying with Carol and Wayne again.
Carol and Wayne's home is beautiful and peaceful beyond expectation. The atmosphere felt so welcoming and cozy and our hosts were totally amenable to our needs and schedule. The location could not be more perfect for accessing everything Newport has to offer! 5/5
There are not enough positive things to say about our stay with Wayne and Carol. From the moment we arrived they provided hospitality and comfort for our first airbnb experience. As this was also our first time visiting Newport we could not have asked for a better place to stay. Their house was a short walk to downtown and an even shorter walk to the beach and cliff walk (they also provided driveway parking). This is all not to mention the beautiful view from our room overlooking the water and amazing skylight windows which resulted in us enjoying the sunset and sunrise. They gave us advice on fun activities to engage in around town and recommendations on where to get fabulous food for dinner. We rented bikes to view all of the incredible views and mansions.
In the morning we woke up to a delicious smell of fresh coffee, homemade muffins baked by Carol and wonderful conversation. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it could not have been a more perfect getaway. We will be returning to Newport and have every intention of staying with them again. Thank you to Wayne and Carol for an unforgettable first experience in Newport.

Carol and Wayne were absolutely fabulous hosts and have an incredibly cozy house - we walked to town for dinner down a hill overlooking the city, watched a gorgeous sunrise from our bed in the morning, and had a lovely breakfast with Carol and Wayne telling us stories about their life in Newport (and giving a ton of great advice about the area). They clearly love their town and opening their home to visitors. We would love to stay here again...and again...and again.
Favorite part is hard to pick but top 2 - waking up in a sun drenched bed (skylights all over the ceiling, windows overlooking the reservoir) to the smell of muffins and getting a send off of fresh chocolate from their family chocolate business.
You should stay here!!!!
About the Host, Carol & Wayne
I love to travel which gives me great opportunities for my photography hobby. ( Newport also offers a multitude of subjects)
Gardening is definitely another passion of mine and living here on the water tends to lengthen the growing season.
I too love to travel, especially to Europe because of my passion for history. I work as a narrator on a tour boat here in Newport . Having been founded in 1639, Newport abounds with buildings and stories from Americas earliest times.
