We'd love to welcome you to our beautiful home, centrally located in what many people consider the best part of Memphis. This established, upscale neighborhood is a great location. It's quiet, with no street noise at night. Please note that this is a two-story house, and the bedrooms are all upstairs.
Your room has a queen-sized bed with a good quality, (firm) mattress, and freshly ironed cotton sheets in the summer, cozy flannel in the winter. There's space for your things in the dresser drawers and closet. The bathroom is located right next door, and you'll have it all to yourself (towels, shampoo, soap are provided). There is also the possibility of using a day bed, in another room, for an extra charge. This might work for a third person, or if two people don't want to share a bed. If you're interested in this, please ask first.
Our house is spacious, with a beautiful, secluded garden and deck where you can sit and have a cup of coffee or eat breakfast (weather permitting). A self-serve continental breakfast is included in the price; we'll usually ask you for your preferences. Also, we can discuss any cooking you might want to do on an individual basis, and it won't usually be a problem - but please ask first! If you stay 4 nights or more, you can use the washer and dryer. Anything else you might need (hairdryer, iron, printer etc) is available, just ask.
Check-in time is flexible, usually anytime between noon and 9:00 PM; check-out time is before noon. However, we will need to know your approximate arrival time, so we can be sure to be there to welcome you.
This is a great neighborhood, often thought of as the best part of Memphis to live. There are excellent grocery stores (brand new Whole Foods, Kroger) less than a mile away, as well as good shops, some excellent restaurants, a movie theater, museums, parks, etc., all within 10 minutes drive. I can give you a list of local attractions when you arrive. We're about 15 mins away from Cooper-Young, 25 mins to Downtown or Graceland.(It's a very easy drive, one straight road all the way downtown.)
To be honest, public transport in Memphis is not good. You really need to have your own vehicle, which you can safely park in the street.
What makes this home unique is the quiet location and beautifully landscaped back yard, best enjoyed in spring or fall, a gardener's delight. Be sure to read our reviews; so far we have been given 5 stars in all categories, and we're really hoping to keep it that way.
If you'd like to come and stay at our home, please make an "inquiry" before making a reservation, and let me know a little about the purpose of your visit, etc. I require all guests to be "verified" through Airbnb, (find out more about this in the "help" section). Also please have a completed profile, and a photograph of yourself.
Thank you for reading and please let me know if you have any questions!
Juliet and Ed maintain a well kept home and garden. I felt at home and cared for in their home, and enjoyed their kind, thoughtful and curious natures. For I've found a gem in this beautiful neighborhood of Memphis, which is filled with large old trees and singing birds (great for early morning walks). This experience was delightful for me.
We truly enjoyed very much our first time using Airbnb. Juliet and Ed are great hosts. When we arrived in Memphis we got lost. After a telephonecall Ed came over to bring us to their loveley and peaceful home. It is clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the kitchen, overlooking the garden and the birds was a good start of the day. We can assure that we will stay there again, and we were glad to meet such a friendly couple.
I spent my time in Memphis with Juliet and Ed while there on a rotation as a medical student. They were extremely accommodating and gracious hosts. Juliet and Ed were always welcoming and genuinely interested in my day to day experiences. They had plenty of suggestions for things to do while in town and really took care to ensure that my stay was comfortable. This was my first experience with aribnb and I found it exceptionally easy and safe.
I had a last minute business trip to Memphis and stayed with Juliet and Ed. Two great people. The house was warm and spotless. My stay went without a hitch. They offered wine when I arrived a bit late. It took the edge off after driving 1,200 miles. Fresh coffee in the morning and breakfast in the morning. When in Memphis you got to have the BBQ. Corky's is nearby this B&B. If your a bird lover. So many kinds of birds come up to the kitchen window that they even have a book to show you the different types that come to feed. When in Memphis STAY HERE!
Juliet and Ed were most attentive hosts. Your room overlooks a lovely garden. Breakfast is self- serve though Juliet and or Ed provide a table service set out each morning with coffee, tea, bread etc available. The neighborhood is peaceful and one can come back each evening knowing they will enjoy a good night's rest. I am also grateful for the invaluable first hand info on living in Memphis as I was visiting the area for a possible real estate investment. Don't hesitate to call these fine people next time you are visiting wonderful Memphis!
Ed & Juliet were really great hosts and very generous with us.Their home is beautiful, comfortable & safe and they made us very welcome.
Down town Memphis is very close and it is an easy drive into the city. Elvis's place is also an easy drive from their house and you can be there in less than 30 minutes.
We enjoyed their company, views on America, details of things to do in the area and Juliet makes a lovely cup of tea!!! (essential for us Brits)
Juliet and Ed are perfect hosts. They made us feel right at home, especially after chatting about their travel plans to Germany. They also gave us good advices where to eat and what we can see during our visit. The room was super cozy, spotless clean and equipped with a very comfortable bed. We also had our own bathroom. We're thankful for their great hospitality!
My daughter and I had a wonderful first experience using Airbnb. The 3 night stay at Juliet and Ed's home was wonderful. They both did all they could to make us feel at home. Their home is so comfortable. We took our breakfast out to the deck one morning and just relaxed. Juliet has a beautiful garden and it was so peaceful. It was a 20 minute, very direct trip to Beale Street. This trip to Memphis was so memorable and part of the reason was staying in this lovely home. Within 5 minutes there were many restaurants, shopping and a grocery store. We highly recommend staying with Juliet and Ed.
We felt like home at Juliet and Ed's house, which lies in a very quiet and friendly area, around 20 minutes from Downtown Memphis. Juliet gave us a very warm welcome and advised us some good places to visit. The house is tidy and clean and the guestroom very cozy. We absolutely recommend to stay with Juliet and Ed, who are great hosts. Many thanks for your wonderful hospitality!
Juliet and Ed were wonderful hosts, lovely people. We have family in Memphis and have used several Airbnb providers over the years. Our stay with Juliet and Ed was the best. We look forward to staying with them again in the future.
