Cozy Courtyard room for one or two people only. Has beautiful bay window with meadow and oak trees view. You are welcome to use our kitchen to cook your meals, and eat in our kitchen or one of the tables outside. Lots of wildlife/birds to watch here!
Cozy bedroom with queen bed, lg bay window, mirror closet doors, coffee-maker, microwave & chair, off courtyard in upscale, eco-friendly Spanish-design home. Entrance is off the courtyard after you enter main house. Only drawback is bathroom is also off the courtyard, about 12 steps away, and is shared occasionally by us. Wifi works well and is no extra charge.
Michael and I are looking for quiet, considerate guest(s) who just need a nice, clean, & friendly place to land while visiting Yosemite (30 mi away), Bass Lake (25 mi away), and/or Fresno, 30 mi away to the South. I have lots of maps and brochures available to help you plan your Yosemite adventure, and I will be happy to go over them with you so you don't miss anything important.
This home is easy to find in the daytime, just 1 mi. off Hwy. 41 (which is on the way to Yosemite). You will see a lot of wildlife here - hummingbirds, quail, woodpeckers, blue jays, hooting owls at night, deer, squirrels & rabbits - and golden eagles. We also have cats who are not allowed in guest quarters and there are air purifiers available if you are extremely allergic, but please note they DO live here. People who are ok with our pets may have full use of our kitchen -- refrigerator, utensils/pans/dishes, stovetop range, etc., to cook and prepare your food betw. the hours of 8 am - 8 pm, as long as you clean up after yourselves and don't bang around the pots and pans. Be sure to bring food with you as there are not grocery stores nearby. There is also complimentary coffee or tea in your room, and you are welcome to sit at the dining table in the dining room or the breakfast nook in the kitchen, or out at the table under the umbrella next to the fountain in the courtyard, or one of the umbrella tables outside the house.
We are warm and friendly hosts who own this hacienda and live here, and one or both of us will be here during your stay. Just know there are other guests here & everyone (usually) keeps a low volume presence.
Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas only.
IMPORTANT! We have 3 other listings so please check them out, too. They are much bigger. Also, in keeping with the quiet, park-like surroundings, people with small children are welcome to book the Casita, which has a living room, kitchen, bath w/shower, one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and two double futons in the living room, a fenced backyard and nice deck, and is well away from the main house.
* Lg Suite w/Priv. Entrance 30 mi/Yos
* Quiet & Private Casita w/Large Deck
* Upstairs Treetop Studio
IMPORTANT: Please use the Instant Book feature on our listings to ensure other people don't make a reversation before you do. If the dates you want show as available on our calendar then don't lose out--just Book It!
This neighborhood is very rural and very safe. It offers a large assortment of wildlife, including an abundance of Golden Eagles! Many guests tell us they see more wildlife here than they do in Yosemite :-)
This is the country. There is no public transportation available so you will need to bring your car or rent one. We do have room on the property for motor home parking, but have no special facilities for them. If someone is going to sleep in the motorhome be sure to count them as a guest!
Other Things to Note
PLUMBING ALERT! Please do not put anything in the toilets except toilet paper or you will clog our plumbing. There are wastecans in every bathroom -- please use them.
1. We are looking for quiet, easygoing, and friendly people who are not coming and going late at night, and do not mind our cats.
2. Please drive slowly on the property and watch for wildlife. There is ample parking for visitors.
3. Please clean up after yourselves and be respectful of the house, animals, property, and friendly with other guests. Understand this is a working household and not a huge noisy hotel maintained to perfection with staff, thanks!
4. Note this room can only hold 2 people max.
5. Please be energy conscious and do not leave heaters, fans, air conditioners, etc., on, or windows and doors open when you are or are not home. Thanks!
6. Because of the serious drought in California, please help us conserve water by taking short showers, shutting off faucets all the way, and shutting off faucets when brushing your teeth.
7. Please do not send me long emails with many questions several times before you get here. Once you have a confirmed reservation then call me (California time) after 10 am or before 6 pm with your questions. As for Yosemite info, I will be happy to go over it with you after you arrive.
8. IMPORTANT: Please bring a copy of your reservation confirmation with you to show us when you arrive.
9. For this Courtyard Room, late arrivals after 9 pm are discouraged. There is no one who is going to wait up late at night for you so if you are planning to arrive after 10 pm please book another one of our rooms that has its own entrance.
10. When you make your reservation be sure to give us an honest guest count, including children of any age. Anyone trying to sneak extra people in will be confronted with the full wrath of my Irish temper and also reported to Airbnb!
I had an incredible Yosemite experience staying at Ginger's place. She was extremely helpful and talked to us for over an hour about all hikes in the Park.
Clean towels, great shower, extremely comfortable bed and all the facilities available, either to relax at the backyard or cook in the kitchen. Peaceful environment. Highly recommend it, people.
Ginger is such a sweetheart, and she explained a very detailed map on places to-sight see, eat, and get gas around the community, which helped us plan our hiking adventure. The room, and bathroom are clean. The walls are thin, but we didn't have trouble sleeping. She has lovely cats. Mike was also a pleasure to meet. Jason (boyfriend) had a great conversation with him. Also, Ginger explaining the history of her lovely home. We would definitely love to come back longer to experience more at Yosemite, and stay at Ginger's place!
We had a wonderful time staying at the home of Ginger and her partner! You couldn't ask for a better airbnb situation! They were very warm, generous and helpful, and they made making us comfortable a priority. :)
The room is beautiful and clean and so were the bathroom facilities. Their property is gorgeous with lots of acreage and horses. They gave us tips on what to do in Yosemite. In addition they have adorable cats. I highly recommend looking out for Tyrone he is the smartest cat I have ever met!
We will definitely be coming back soon, and we would like to thank them for making our trip so wonderful!!
This is a really beautiful place with nice decor. Ginger and Michael are great hosts who make sure their guests are well taken care of. They even have a few ponies in the backyard who aren't shy of people!
Excellent host! Very knowledgable about the area. The house and surrounding areas are just incredible. If we had any issues they responded immediately. All accommodations were there, we didn't need to bring anything with us. Overall the experience was awesome and I would definitely recommend this amazing place for anyone traveling to or from Yosemite.
Well above average. Room is fine, there's electrical issues which were easily resolved by the hosts. The issues are preventable by not using the space heater. You don't really need it anyway. There are no locks on the door to the room which seems a bit not secure.

I am a native Californian and retired grandmother formerly from Santa Barbara, San Diego, and the Bay Area. I have been living in the beautiful Sierra foothills for over 13 years now. Having been self-employed most of my life in various businesses, including publishing, graphic arts, and real estate, my true love is music and I have had my own rock 'n roll bands (many years ago, sigh).
Exciting news on my end is my former husband Michael and I have reunited after 42 years, and will be remarrying next summer :-] He now enjoys the hosting experience with me, as well as helping tremendously with the workload a large property entails. What a blessing he is! I guess the moral of this story is it's never too late for love :-]
We are friendly, young at heart, love animals and most non-overly opinionated people, and enjoy growing plants and trees--especially palm trees. Michael was also a musician and in the music industry in one form or the other for most of his adult life. We love meeting new people from all walks of life and sharing our home with friendly, good-humored guests.
We sincerely look forward to meeting you!
