Beautiful flat located in the best part of San Francisco! Close to BART and several bus lines, come stay in my lovingly decorated, comfy apt and enjoy the Mission's best restaurants, cafes, shops, and neighborhood bars & theaters!

The Space

Welcome to my 1BR flat in the Mission District/Noe Valley area, the hippest area of San Francisco and conveniently located a few blocks from the city's best cafes, restaurants, shops, and BART (subway). Parking (optional) could be included for an extra fee. It is also very convenient to the shuttles to Silicon Valley ((website hidden), etc) - a few blocks away.

The apartment is fully (and lovingly) furnished with fun vintage/antique/mid-century pieces and is very bright & sunny. Bed is queen size, and the couch sleeps one very comfortably. The kitchen is well equipped. I think you'll find everything you need for preparing just about anything, if you so choose. There is no separate dining room, but the kitchen has a nice size table, which can seat up to 6. Coin-op laundry is downstairs.

Wireless internet is included. I have a flat screen tv, but no cable subscription. You're welcome to hook up your computer to watch netflix, and I have a dvd player as well.

I love living here, and I think you will enjoy staying here. Thanks for looking!

The Neighborhood

The Mission District is home to the most vibrant offerings of San Francisco. Funky cafes, dive bars, and thrift shops exist side-by-side with upscale restaurants and boutiques, making this neighborhood one of the most desirable places to live. Easy access to both public transit and to the highways to the south bay mean that it's convenient if you have to leave the area, although the many attractions and frequent sunshine (it's arguably the sunniest, warmest neighborhood of SF's many micro-climates) mean you won't want to leave!

Getting around

BART is three blocks away. Muni J train is a few short blocks as well. Other buses (#49, etc) are a block away.

  • Shawn was the perfect host! She was very accommodating in coordinating our arrival and departure, and had great communication throughout our stay. She had a nice welcome gift waiting for us in the kitchen when we arrived, along with a detailed list of her favorite things to do in the area.

The apartment itself was gorgeous! Huge windows overlooking Guerrero. Lots of sunlight. Very clean and decorated with beautiful vintage antiques and artwork. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Shawn was an excellent host. She was in touch early and consistently and we were able to access the apartment without ease, as well as check out on our own schedule. The apartment itself is SUPER cute and located in the perfect, central location. Highly recommend.

  • Shawn was very welcoming. She was sincere in her desire that we would enjoy our trip in SF. The apartment was very clean and decorated nicely. The bed was comfortable. Shawn was willing to share her spices. Neighborhood was great full of old SF victorian homes. Great place for a walk. No hotels in neighborhood. You can live like a local. Street is a bit busy.

  • Shawn's apartment was clean and great.
It is large enough for three people and very comfortable.
It is well located and close to public transports.
Shawn give us useful tips and address for restaurants, groceries etc.
    That was very helpfull.
She was always available for our questions, by mail or by phone.
After we had quit the apartment, we realized we had forgot a little hand bag in it. She took time to send it back from the US to France by UPS.
She is a very dedicated and kind host.

  • Shawn was a wonderful host with very detailed instructions on getting access. Also had a great reference guide made up to all the great restaurants, etc. nearby. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Shawn to other interested travelers.

  • This place was perfect for us. It is very clean and as described. Shawn was incredibly responsive via email, and was helpful every step of the way. When we arrived she had left detailed instructions about the apartment, and several pages of tips for places nearby. There are great restaurants within a few blocks as well as some of the best coffee I've ever tasted. We have zero complaints about Shawn or her place. The one thing to be wary of anywhere in the city is that it is busy (as cities are) and parking can be difficult. I'm a light sleeper but after the first night popped in some earplugs and all the traffic I heard the night before disappeared. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was great. Thank you Shawn! Highly recommended!

  • Shawn's apartment is lovely and situated perfectly on the edge of the Mission and Noe Valley. We stayed for a week and found the apartment well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Shawn also left us a great list of place to try near the apartment - very helpful to two new-comers! Shawn was also very responsive to my pre-booking inquires. I would stay here again and recommend her place to friends!

  • Shawn's apartment was exactly as the pics show, was completely clean, and I couldn't have asked for better guidance from her on how to get situated, where to go!

She was completely responsive and very quickly to any questions I had leading up to the time I was at her place and through it. She left awesome details for me on where to go and it made such a difference!

The place is in a terrific location; completely accessible to everything and so much just within walking distance too! Restaurants, conveniences... couldn't have asked for much more!

  • I stayed at Shawn's apartment over a long weekend and felt very lucky to find such a great place. Shawn is an ideal host--highly responsive and very considerate of her guests. I did not meet her personally due to the timing of my travel, but texted and emailed with her numerous times and she was always very helpful. The information she left for us was great--I saved her list of places to go in the Mission, so I can use it for future trips to San Francisco. She has some great recommendations. Her apartment is immaculate and welcoming, with a super-comfortable mattress and great shower. A friend who stayed with me slept on her couch and was very happy with it--and he's a tall guy. The location is terrific--close to the 24th St. BART station and to Valencia St., which is full of great cafes, restaurants, and interesting independent shops. Everything was very walkable and I felt quite safe. We didn't use our car very much--just to go to a show in Oakland and to Muir Beach (amazing hiking) but it was fantastic to have a dedicated parking space so we weren't constantly worrying about getting towed or finding a place to put the car. I would thoroughly recommend her apartment and I hope that when I next come to SF she will consider me again as a guest, if her space is available.

  • The apartment was the perfect size for two people, really accessible by public transit, and spotless. We stayed for 11 days, and the whole time was a pleasure. I never met Shawn, due to conflicting flights, but she was really accommodating and mailed the key to me. She left a list of cool places to hit, and was easily contacted by email. Definitely will rent from her again if I get the chance! :)

About
I'm a college instructor from San Francisco, CA, teaching Political Science and International Relations. I love talking all things politics, especially over a good bottle of wine. But, most of all, I love to travel! I have lived in France for nearly 3 years as an undergraduate and have traveled throughout most of Europe. One of the most interesting places I've traveled so far was Cuba!
